$700 trillion per Deg. Energy issues. Kicking bilderberg. Shaky science

The Intelligent Voter's Guide to Global Warming Geoffrey Lehmann, Peter Farrell & Dick Warburton
[...] We have written this piece as an intelligent voter’s guide to global warming—to provide basic information often missing from the debate. In Part 1 we examine the science, and in Part 2 the practicalities of an ETS and carbon tax, and the politics. All three aspects—science, economics and the associated politics—intersect and drive each other.  /Continues with Part 1 The Science. Part 2 will be published in April's Quadrant.

Peer into the Heart of the IPCC, Find Greenpeace Donna Laframboise
Since agendas and science don’t mix, environmentalists should keep their distance from activities that are supposed to be scientific. Their mere presence undermines the integrity of the research. It casts a shadow over the data and calls into question the conclusions.
But activists have not kept their distance from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) even though this body claims to be a scientific organization. Nor has the IPCC taken steps to safeguard its reputation by keeping a strict separation between itself and green groups.
This is perhaps best illustrated by a Greenpeace climate change
publication that appeared in early 2007. The foreword to this document, which focused on New Zealand, was written by none other than Rajendra Pachauri. At the end of his remarks, beside his photograph, he is identified not as a private individual expressing private opinions but as the chairman of the IPCC.
mentioned previously that the fact that Richard Klein worked as a Greenpeace campaigner at age 23 was no impediment to the IPCC appointing him a lead author at age 25. I’ve also drawn attention to the fact that some of those who’ve served as IPCC expert reviewers are actually Greenpeace employees. /much more

'Green' price tag: $700 trillion to drop Earth's temp 1 degree
Even EPA admits cost of regulating greenhouse gases 'absurd'
New calculations applied to a U.S. Senate report reveal the Environmental Protection Agency's plan to combat global warming through regulation of greenhouse gases would theoretically take over $700 trillion, seven times the world's gross production, to drop the earth's temperature only 1 degree Celsius.

The report released last year
by Sen. James Ihnofe, R-Okla., then-ranking minority member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, quotes the EPA's own stats and experts to break down the numbers, including one researcher who called the Obama administration's plan "absurd." /continues

What kind of science is the EPA's coup attempt and UK economy killer policy based on?
UN IPCC reports should be moved to the science fiction section of the library, next to Gore's AIT and Fox's Gasland
From Judy Curry's post Hiding the Decline
[...] It is obvious that there has been deletion of adverse data in figures shown IPCC AR3 and AR4, and the 1999 WMO document.  Not only is this misleading, but it is dishonest (I agree with Muller on this one).  The authors defend themselves by stating that there has been no attempt to hide the divergence problem in the literature, and that the relevant paper was referenced.  I infer then that there is something in the IPCC process or the authors’ interpretation of the IPCC process  (i.e. don’t dilute the message) that corrupted the scientists into deleting the adverse data in these diagrams.
There is not enough hydrocarbon fuel stock in the sum of real and speculated reserves of oil, gas and coal to cause an increase in CO2 concentration to 560ppm

Magnetic monster: Geomagnetic field reveals increasing danger of 'continent killing' quakes
[...] As the core shifts and the erratic geomagnetic field moves towards reversal, evidence mounts that studies such as "
Ultralow-Frequency Magnetic Fields Preceding Large Earthquakes" by Antony C. Fraser-Smith of Stanford University and Harvard's "Statistical relationship of strong earthquakes with planetary geomagnetic field activity" reveal the increasing possibility that massive, 'continent killing' super-quakes will reshape the current maps of the world. /full article

The powerful earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami Friday appears to have moved the main island of Japan by 8 feet (2.4 meters) and shifted the Earth on its axis.
"At this point, we know that one GPS station moved (8 feet), and we have seen a map from GSI (Geospatial Information Authority) in Japan showing the pattern of shift over a large area is consistent with about that much shift of the land mass," said Kenneth Hudnut, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
The tidal effect of the Moon that raises land ~18" and sea up to 16 mtrs (together with the solar tide) as it passes is likely what triggered the Japanese earthquake. The tension was probably already created and if the Moon hadn't set it off likely sometime in the near future would have seen it happen anyhow. Movement of the core (rotational speed and position) changing surface gravity is likely at the root of tectonic shifts. Glacial rebound such as most of the N. hemisphere land is experiencing is another source.
The question now is how the knock-on effects will play out. Releasing tension is actually a misnomer. The only way that can happen is by planet expansion. What is occurring is a redistribution of tension and the repercussions will be earthquakes elsewhere, the Pacific is likely to see the main effects, the questions are when and where. Perhaps a little money could be diverted from chasing CO2 phantoms to research into real science?

One door closes forcing another door to open (shale gas). The Japanese reactors' destruction is not exactly a silver lining but certainly anything that forces politicos to act with commonsense instead of chasing rainbows is not a 100% disaster.
World energy crunch as nuclear and oil both go wrong Evans-Pritchard
[...] Oil prices have fallen over recent days but it may not be long before the deepening nuclear crisis in Japan and Germany's decision to shut down seven of its oldest reactors starts to spill over into oil and gas markets.
The shutdown of 11 reactors in Japan has cut 10 gigawatts (GW) of power, forcing the country to import other fuels to keep its economy going. "We think they will need an extra 200,000 bpd of fuel oil and light crude, as well liquefied natural gas," said Eduardo Lopez from the International Energy Agency.
[...] It is too early to tell how much of this week's anti-nuclear rhetoric is posturing by politicians. Germany has imposed moratorium on renewal of 17 reactors. Switzerland and Taiwan are reviewing policy. China said on Wednesday that it was suspending approval of 25 reactors under construction. "We must fully grasp the urgency and importance of nuclear safety," said the state council.
If the Chinese shelve any of the planned reactor builds it will very likely replace the energy shortfall by upping the build of coal plants from 1 a week.

Nigel Farage confronts EU leaders with their hypocrisy on Libya Hannan

Mine's a port and lemon
Curious. If it could be proven that the N. African rebellions were deliberately triggered by the monied manipulators with an end objective - central bank control of new gov'ts - who could prosecute them?

What Does It Profit a Congressman to Retain His Office but Suffer the Loss of His Soul?
Dr. William Cook
The question is not does Israel own our Congress, the question is WHY?

(OXFORD, U.K.) - Two months from now Americans will be subjected to the humiliating spectacle of their Representatives and Senators crawling down AIPAC’s plush red carpet to the podium at its annual conference where they will obsequiously laud this bloody organization with words of praise, outdoing each other in pitiful patronizing phrases, in unquestioning obedience to their masters.
The question is not does AIPAC control our Congress, one need only check their record of support:

    * 410-8 supported Israel’s illegal invasion of Lebanon in 2006;
    * 390-5 supported Israel’s devastation of Gaza in 2008/09;
    * 344-36 supported silencing the Goldstone Report that condemned Israel’s crimes against humanity for that monstrous massacre;
    * and following Israel’s violent attack against the unarmed humanitarian aid ship the Mavi Marmara on May 31, 329 Representatives signed and sent a letter to the President asking him to support a resolution exonerating Israel of any wrongdoing while their colleagues in the Senate voted 100 to none finding Israel innocent in that attack despite world-wide condemnation of its actions.

The question is not does Israel [zionist gov't] own our Congress, the question is WHY? The answer is simple: they are cowards protecting themselves against intimidation, coercion and fear. /

Horror story
The Rule of Gold after the Financial Collapse
[...] What is never disclosed in official statistics of wealth ownership are the names of the true underworld bosses of the global controllers. The shadow manipulators conceal the extent of their money hordes. Most public lists painstakingly omit the master criminals. Their plan is to buy real assets with counterfeit notes obtained through illicit profits from rigged markets and phony financial derivative instruments.
When the banking system finally collapses with mathematical certitude from the burden of compound interest, these same crooks will be prepared to provide a specious substitute. The schemes described in
IMF Plotting Gold-Backed SDRs?, make the following point.
“The IMF is about as likely to help individual European countries subvert the euro via gold as it is to encourage debtor countries not to honor banking their debts. The IMF is a creature of the power elite, and it will always remain so, in our opinion. But none of this militates against the idea of the IMF backing its OWN currency (SDRs) with gold”
If you can't afford to buy physical gold (coins, jewelry etc), buy silver. If you can't afford silver buy the most expensive metal you can afford. If you can, move your pension fund offshore. Some countries still have a supported currency.

Any philanthropists out there that are looking for worthwhile scientific projects to donate to please consider
Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature. "Our aim is to resolve current criticism of the former temperature analyses, and to prepare an open record that will allow rapid response to further criticism or suggestions."
I very much doubt corrupt agenda driven boards such as the RS, NAS etc would consider staking the heart of their cash cow by funding BEST themselves.
