Steven Goddard, Real Science. Holdren - Snipping You Since 1969
Note from Michael Potts to Marc Morano:
I read that Holdren has argued that in his works he doesn’t actually advocate a position, but merely documents possible approaches. However, in this article he is quite emphatic in claiming that without “population control” all the technology in the world won’t be enough to prevent world-wide famine:
“Indeed, after a far more thorough survey of the prospects than we have attempted here, the President’s Science Advisory Committee Panel on the world food supply concluded (PSAC,1967): “The solution of the problem that will exist after about 1985 demands that programs of population control be initiated now.” We most emphatically agree, noting that “now” was 2 years ago!”
Hal Lewis: My Resignation From The American Physical Society
– an important moment in science history
It is of course, the global warming scam, with the (literally) trillions of dollars driving it, that has corrupted so many scientists, and has carried APS before it like a rogue wave. It is the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud I have seen in my long life as a physicist. Anyone who has the faintest doubt that this is so should force himself to read the ClimateGate documents, which lay it bare. (Montford’s book organizes the facts very well.) I don’t believe that any real physicist, nay scientist, can read that stuff without revulsion. I would almost make that revulsion a definition of the word scientist.
So what has the APS, as an organization, done in the face of this challenge? It has accepted the corruption as the norm, and gone along with it.
Faulty science behind California’s landmark diesel law (Also discussed at WUWT)
California grossly miscalculated pollution levels in a scientific analysis used to toughen the state’s clean air standards, and scientists have spent the past several months revising data and planning a significant weakening of the landmark regulation, The Chronicle has found.
The pollution estimate in question was too high - by 340 percent, according to the California Air Resources Board, the state agency charged with researching and adopting air quality standards. The estimate was a key part in the creation of a regulation adopted by the Air Resources Board in 2007, a rule that forces businesses to cut diesel emissions by replacing or making costly upgrades to heavy-duty, diesel-fueled off-road vehicles used in construction and other industries.
The staff of the powerful and widely respected Air Resources Board said the overestimate is largely due to the board calculating emissions before the economy slumped, which halted the use of many of the 150,000 diesel-exhaust spewing vehicles in California. Independent researchers, however, found huge overestimates in the Air Board’s work on diesel emissions and attributed the flawed work to a faulty method of calculation - not the economic downturn.
E.M. Smith. ASOS rounds temperatures UP resulting in a warm bias, how convenient
In this post, I found a roughly 1 F high bias to the ASOS at San Jose, and that led to finding out that the ASOS system rounds UP to whole degrees C.
Given that ASOS are now used as the QA standard for the daily data in USHCN (and who knows where else...) and that ASOS are an increasing percentage of the data over time, this could be significant.
See the documentation from NOAA here.

Dr. Ryan N. Maue’s 2010 Global Tropical Cyclone Activity Update
[...] Current Year-to-Date analysis of Northern Hemisphere and Global Tropical Cyclone Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) AND Power Dissipation Index (PDI) has fallen even further than during the previous 3-years. The global activity is at 33-year lows and at a historical record low where Typhoons form in the Western Pacific.
Archibald On Dr. Hathaway’s Most Recent Solar Cycle 24 Prediction
[...] Strong cycles are front-loaded. Weak cycles are symmetrical. This is a weak cycle so the decline will be as long as the ramp up. Dr Hathaway has the Solar Cycle 24/25 transition in 2020. It will be in 2022.
Dr Hathaway has maximum in 2013. It will be in 2015, as foretold by the green corona intensity, and halfway through a 12 year solar cycle that started in December 2008.
[...] there will be no reversal of the Sun’s magnetic poles at Solar Cycle 24 maximum.
[...] we are also due for a Bond Event.
[...] With global cooling underway, and while waiting around for solar maximum, my own research interest has moved on to understanding the transition to cooling. A recent report on the Canadian wheat crop has it down 20% this year due to a cold and wet start to the growing season. This is consistent with my view that, by the end of the decade, Canadian agriculture will be reduced to trapping beavers, as it was in the 17th century.
The transition to a severely cold regime can happen in one year flat. Brauer et al determined that the transition to the Younger Dryas occurred in 10,671 BC. The date they used was 12,679 BP. As their paper was published in 2008, I changed it to a fixed date. The year of transition was preceded by 21 years of sometimes bad winter weather, but otherwise there was no gradual transition. It was a rapid regime shift. We are now headed into the third cold northern winter in a row, so perhaps there may be only 18 more winters before the climate is set up for a rapid regime shift. As Brauer et al note, there is a strong negative feedback from sea ice. Last winter, some English people were astounded by a patch of sea ice that grew out from the local beach. That may have been the harbinger.
Strongest La Nina since 1955-56, Most Rapid Onset in the Record
Negative SST anomalies are covering much of the eastern (sub-)tropical Pacific in the latest weekly SST map. Many of these anomalies are in excess of -1C.
For an alternate interpretation of the current situation, I highly recommend reading the latest NOAA ENSO Advisory which represents the official and most recent Climate Prediction Center opinion on this subject. In its latest update (7 October 2010), La Nina conditions are expected to last at least into the Northern Hemisphere spring of 2011.

Legal Defeat for Global Warming in Kiwigate Scandal
Researcher from Climategate University Implicated in Data Fraud
As reported in a Suite101 article by the same writer of April 2010 'Kiwigate is a Carbon Copy of Climategate' it was shown that the scientist who made the controversial “bold adjustments” is none other than Jim Salinger who is also a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Because very few temperature records exist for the Pacific Ocean, the NIWA record is given extra weight by the UN’s IPCC for determining multi-decadal trends in global average temperatures.
Salinger was dismissed by NIWA earlier this year for speaking without authorization to the media. The discredited researcher originally worked at Britain’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU), the institution at the center of the Climategate scandal.
Salinger was also among the inner circle of climate scientists whose leaked emails precipitated the original climate controversy in November 2009. In an email (August 4, 2003) to fellow disgraced American climate professor, Michael Mann, Salinger stated he was “extremely concerned about academic standards” among climate skeptics.
Bogus Data Destroyed before it could be independently verified In circumstances strangely similar to those witnessed in the Climategate controversy Kiwigate appears to match Climategate in three key three facets. First, climate scientists declined to submit their data for independent analysis. Second, when backed into a corner the scientists claimed their adjustments had been ‘lost’. Third, the raw data itself proves no warming trend.

Satellitegate: US Agency Faces Courtroom Climate Showdown
John O'Sullivan, guest post at Climate Realists
The controversy over ‘Satellitegate’ hots up as NOAA faces a court appearance for refusing to release evidence that would show whether one or more US satellites exagerrated global warming temperatures. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is a federal agency focused on reporting the condition of the oceans and the atmosphere. When the story first broke NOAA bizarrely announced it would withdraw satellite ‘images’ from its archives but failed to state whether reams of cooked data had also been withdrawn. An official US Government statement last July confirmed that the NOAA-16 earth orbiting satellite used to measure surface temperatures suffered failure due to a “degraded” sensor system. But skeptics now fear that because government climate scientists won’t answer any more questions or reveal the discredited data archives they may be guilty of fraudulently cooking the books to show super boiling temperatures.
Pesident Obama Used Stimulus Funds to Reward Companies Pushing His Energy Policy
General Electric and Other Corporations Win the Taxpayer-Funded Sweepstakes, says National Center of Public Policy Research
Washington, D.C. -- Today policy experts from the National Center for Public Policy Research are calling attention to corporate special interest groups that received taxpayer money through the stimulus thanks to the President and that also are lobbying for Obama's energy policy.
"It's alarming that many of the remaining corporate members of the United States Climate Action Partnership – a cap-and-trade lobbying group – such as General Electric, Duke Energy, NextEra Energy, Exelon, and Honeywell all received economic stimulus funds. It seems pushing Obama's agenda has financial rewards. The coordinated effort between big government and big business threatens our free enterprise system," said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center's Free Enterprise Project. Big R&D spenders say they won't step up funding of university research in the UK to make up for science funding cuts
Companies and charities that spend billions of pounds on research and development in the UK have said it is not their job to fill the gaps in university funding that will be left if the government's proposed cuts to the science budget go ahead. (Guardian)
JS comment: Indeed it is not their function. It is an open question whether taxpayers should be stuck with the bill for the welfare queens either, rather obviously I think not. Public funds must return some benefit and not be used as open checks for resume-buffing politicians and celebrity causes. How do you suppose a cost-benefit analysis of "the war on cancer" would come out? Note the disproportionate spending on say, breast cancer, simply because no politician is game to deny the feminist brigade. Far too much money is squandered studying the "health effects" of gorebull warbling, despite the fact that only occurs in PlayStation® games written expressly to generate scary warming scenarios. We need to get back to a rational basis for how society directs its effort and resources.
Too much of a good thing: Human activities overload ecosystems with nitrogen
Resulting ecological damage is serious, but could be reduced by wider use of more sustainable, time-honored practices
Humans are overloading ecosystems with nitrogen through the burning of fossil fuels and an increase in nitrogen-producing industrial and agricultural activities, according to a new study. While nitrogen is an element that is essential to life, it is an environmental scourge at high levels.
According to the study, excess nitrogen that is contributed by human activities pollutes fresh waters and coastal zones, and may contribute to climate change. Nevertheless, such ecological damage could be reduced by the adoption of time-honored sustainable practices. (NSF)

Our Source of Oxygen is CO2
Biomass on land and in the waters strips the carbon and releases the oxygen. Cameron, probably under the instruction/advice of the EC, Oxburgh types, Bilderberg Fabianites and banksters, wants to introduce carbon dioxide capture and storage. CCS causes fossil fueled energy plants to use more fossil fuel, around 30%, to capture the CO2 and pump it into death trap reservoirs. The only safe place for CO2 is the air and oceans where it is widely dispersed. Voluntarily forcing an otherwise benign and useful gas into deadly concentrations is akin to building a nuclear powered energy plant without protection against radiation. Earthquakes have been increasing in the UK, so far only small movements of the ground. (SE England is sinking, Scotland is uplifting, ongoing due to glacial rebound.) But it only takes a tiny breach to release pressurised CO2 from reservoirs underground. Instant death to those living nearby (how CO2 becomes a killer).
Cameron must also be among the misanthropic mindset (CoR, its UN, CoM, CoB, Bilderberg, its EC, Fabian Soc, Grantham Inst., Holdren, Eldrich, royalty that wants to come back as ebola etc.) not just because of the aforementioned, (I believe CCS Oxburgh is interested only in the money) as CO2 at 560 ppm would boost crop yields sufficient to feed over a third of the expected population increase by the end of the century just by normal living. The corn, soy and land dedicated to producing biofuels turned to food cropping would push that figure past 60% were biofuel subsidies to end. Imagine that, eating corn instead of using it to produce smog - N2O. (Biofuels' only good point is that is takes up to 400 years to repay the "carbon debt" its production incurs!)
If Cameron paid off the banks (with the EU membership fee and other contributions, UN gifts, political "charity" funding, Thanet type white elephant subsidies, bribes to foreign governments to not build fosfuel plants, halving the quango count, halving the funding of the remaining ~600, cancelling think tank funding, I mean what use are they?) and repealed all "green" legislation that is a based on a total lie, (even if CO2 were to be a warming agent, what use are UK CO2 reductions? A tiny fraction of a fraction of a degree F less cooling by 2100 compared to Indian, Chinese and Europe's ever increasing emissions?), industry would return en masse.
He's given a touch of the cap to reducing outgoings. Austerity needs to start with those clingons that are surplus to requirements, especially when the money has to be borrowed to pay them. "Green" energy that isn't "green" is the most deserving, even ahead of representatives' pet quangos and political charities.
The UK deserves to be debt free. Playing bankster games has proven undeservedly catastrophic and government needs to put distance between running the economy and self-interested and agenda driven financiers, especially the likes of the ECB, World Bank, IMF, GEF, Goldman Sachs and its prostitute, the federal reserve and similar (BoE).
The Commonwealth is where Britain belongs
While Cameron is in charge it won't happen. He has only his own, bankster, Bilderberg and federalist EC interests at heart. Fortunately they don't want the UK to collapse, just to remain in a state of dire need where the EC can pretend to be our saviour from the strife their puppets have engineered. Like Ireland, when they have us at their mercy, EC financial integration will happen. If we let their minions in the alliance screw us.
