Russian intelligence report on Turkey’s current assistance to Daesh

| Moscow (Russia)

18 February 2016

Recruitment of foreign terrorist fighters, facilitation of their cross-border movement into Syria and the supply of weapons to the terrorist groups active there

Reportedly, representatives of ISIL — with help from the Turkish intelligence services — have established an extensive network in Antalya for the recruitment of individuals who have arrived in Turkey from the post-Soviet States, to enable their participation in the Syrian conflict and possible transfer to Russia.

The group of recruiters consists of a Kyrgyzstan national named Abdullah; a native of Adygea named Azmet; a native of Tatarstan named Elnar; a Russian Federation national named Ilyas; an Azerbaijan national named Adil Aliev; and a native of Karachay-Cherkessia named Nizam. They are led by a Russian Federation national, Ruslan Rastyamovich Khaibullov (also known as Baris Abdul or by the pseudonym “The Teacher”), born on 1 April 1978 in Tatarstan. He lives with his family in Antalya. He has a Turkish permanent residence permit.

Recruitment takes place with the knowledge of the temporary detention centre administration. If a detainee agrees to accept Islam and engage in terrorist activity, the recruiters promise to “do a deal” with the Turkish law enforcement agencies and offer, free of charge, the services of a Turkish lawyer, Tahir Tosolar. Sultan Kekhursaev, a Chechen who is a Turkish national, has also made visits for the same purpose to detention centres where foreigners are held.

In September 2015 a group of more than 1,000 ISIL fighters who had come from countries in Europe and Central Asia were taken from Turkey to Syria through the border crossing at Alikaila (Gaziantep).

The routes for the movement of fighters pass very close to the Turkish-Syrian border through Antakya, Reyhanlı, Topaz, Şanlıurfa and Hatay.

In March 2014 the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Mr. H. Fidan, coordinated the transfer of a large ISIL unit headed by Mahdi al-Kharati, a Libyan national [1]. The fighters were taken by sea from Libya to Syria through the Barsai crossing on the Turkish-Syrian border.

Since late December 2015, with the assistance of the Turkish intelligence services, arrangements have been made for an air route for moving ISIL fighters from Syria through Turkey to Yemen using Turkish military air transport. An alternative means of transporting fighters is by sea to the Yemeni port of Aden.

Russian Federation nationals who maintain contact with representatives of the security, police and administrative authorities in a number of Turkish cities, including Istanbul, are involved in recruitment through Turkish madrasas.

It is well known that wounded ISIL fighters are being provided with places to rest and receive treatment in areas of Turkey bordering Syria. At least 700 fighters were recuperating in Gaziantep in 2014.

Reportedly, beginning in 2015, Turkish intelligence services assisted in the removal from Antalya to Eskişehir of what was termed a “Tatar Village”, which houses ethnic Tatar fighters and accomplices of the terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusrah who are natives of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan and Mordovia. Some of them are dual Russian-Turkish nationals.

One of the people actively involved in the Village is Timur Maunirovich Bichurin, a Russian national born on 15 December 1969 who is a native of Kazan and since January 2014 has been acting as an accomplice, helping Islamists fighting in Syria.

In December 2014, Turkish intelligence services helped to set up camps in Turkey, particularly in Hatay Province, to gather illegal migrants and provide training in preparation for the dispatch of extremist gangs to Syria. In January 2015, the Turkish MIT was involved in the operation to merge three terrorist bands, Osman Gazi, Omer bin Abdulaziz and Omer Mukhtar, into a group called the Sultan Abdulhamid Brigade, of which Omer Abdullah was appointed commander. The members of this group are trained in a camp in Bayır-Bucak in Turkey under the leadership of instructors from special operations units of the Turkish Armed Forces general command and MIT personnel. The activities of the Sultan Abdulhamid Brigade are coordinated with the activities of Jabhat al-Nusrah fighters in the north of the Syrian province of Latakia.

It is well known that on 21 September 2015, in the Syrian town of Tell Rifaat, representatives of the Syrian opposition who had received military training at a camp in Kırşehir in Turkey had delivered weapons to Jabhat al-Nusrah fighters.

Deliveries of weapons to terrorist groups in Syria are reportedly still taking place, profiting from the facilities of Turkish-based foundations İnsan Hak ve Hürriyetleri ve İnsani Yardım Vakfı (IHH — Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief), İmkander and Öncü Nesil İnsani Yardım Derneği.

Supplies of various forms of weapons, military equipment and ammunition are arriving from abroad via the Turkish port of İskenderun. Military equipment and supplies are transported from there through Hatay Province (Öncüpinar border crossing) to Aleppo and Idlib in Syria using vehicles belonging to IHH, İmkander and Öncü Nesil with the following Turkish registrations: 33 SU 317, 06 DY 7807, 33 SU 540, 33 SU 960, 42 GL 074 and 31 R 5487. Within Syria, the weapons and ammunition are distributed to Turkmen gangs and Jabhat al-Nusrah units.

On 15 September 2014, representatives of IHH brought supplies of weapons and medicines from Bursa through the Ceylanpınar border crossing (Reyhanlı district) by vehicle into Syria for ISIL groups. This shipment was followed and escorted through Turkey by a vehicle carrying MIT personnel.

The media are misleading the public on Syria

Yahoo. Boston Globe By Stephen Kinzer February 18, 2016
Coverage of the Syrian war will be remembered as one of the most shameful episodes in the history of the American press. Reporting about carnage in the ancient city of Aleppo is the latest reason why.
For three years, violent militants have run Aleppo. Their rule began with a wave of repression. They posted notices warning residents: “Don’t send your children to school. If you do, we will get the backpack and you will get the coffin.” Then they destroyed factories, hoping that unemployed workers would have no recourse other than to become fighters. They trucked looted machinery to Turkey and sold it.
This month, people in Aleppo have finally seen glimmers of hope. The Syrian army and its allies have been pushing militants out of the city. Last week they reclaimed the main power plant. Regular electricity may soon be restored. The militants’ hold on the city could be ending.
Militants, true to form, are wreaking havoc as they are pushed out of the city by Russian and Syrian Army forces. “Turkish-Saudi backed ‘moderate rebels’ showered the residential neighborhoods of Aleppo with unguided rockets and gas jars,” one Aleppo resident wrote on social media. The Beirut-based analyst Marwa Osma asked, “The Syrian Arab Army, which is led by President Bashar Assad, is the only force on the ground, along with their allies, who are fighting ISIS — so you want to weaken the only system that is fighting ISIS?”
This does not fit with Washington’s narrative. As a result, much of the American press is reporting the opposite of what is actually happening. Many news reports suggest that Aleppo has been a “liberated zone” for three years but is now being pulled back into misery.

British airstrikes have killed or injured just SEVEN ISISfighters in Syria - and the 'game-changing' Brimstone missile did not account for any of them

British air strikes in Syria have killed or injured just seven Islamic State fighters, according to estimates released by the Ministry of Defence.
David Cameron won the support of MPs for strikes in the terror group's Syrian strongholds in December.
But the MoD figures show by the end of January just four attacks had resulted in the jihadist group suffering casualties.

Financial Times: Russia Ended U.S Lawlessness In the Middle East
Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
14th February, 2016
Washington has not gotten away with an "Arab spring", in Syria, as Russia has clearly shown that it will not allow the United States to overthrow any leader who refuses to act on their orders, writes the Financial Times.
Syrian government troops supported by Russian aviation made a major breakthrough in Aleppo, and now it is safe to say that Moscow has all the chances to reverse the course of the conflict, the newspaper notes. If the forces of Assad are taking Aleppo, Moscow in talks on a ceasefire on Friday in Munich, will be able to play their most powerful cards.

U.S & France Reject Russian Draft UNSC Resolution on Syria
Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ

The permanent representatives of France and the USA to the UN, Samantha Power and François Delattre told journalists that their country had rejected Moscow's proposed draft Security Council resolution in defense of Syrian sovereignty.
As was reported by TASS, representatives of the two countries also stressed that the Russian document has no future.
Earlier today the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow intends to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the plans of Turkey to send troops to the North of Syria.

Erdogan's War Against Kurds in Southeast Turkey is 'Part of Business Plan'
Ankara has unleashed a devastating war against Kurds in the southeast Turkey to "urgently nationalize" the affected structures and implement the AKP-led project of Urban Change in Diyarbakir, Istanbul-based independent scholar Dr. Can Erimtan writes, dubbing the process as "disaster capitalism à la Turca."
The Kurdish peace process launched by Recep Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) back in 2009 has been eventually brought to an end by Ankara, who now has unleashed an all-out war against its own population in southeastern Turkey.

NATO Refuses to Support Turkey in the Event of a Conflict With Russia

According to Asselborn, the country of the North Atlantic Alliance does not intend to participate in an escalation in the conflict between Russia and Turkey. The Foreign Minister of Luxembourg underlined that the authorities of all state-members of NATO have a common stance on this issue.
"The Alliance should not be drawn into the escalating conflict between Turkey and Russia. The NATO Charter that guarantees mutual defense applies only in the case of an open attack," said Asselborn.

Turkish-Saudi Ground Invasion in Syria Is "Welcomed" by Damascus & Allies
Translated by Sufyan Jan for Fort Russ
19th February, 2016 by Elijah J.Magnier
There will be no cessation of fire, which the US and Russia had agreed upon, on multiple fronts, noting that the agreements' time frame had passed this past week, it is expected that intense battles will continue in Idlib and its countryside, as well as in eastern Aleppo where ISIS' hold sways in the midst of all this chatter about Turkeys intent to play a bigger role in the ongoing war in Syria, within a coalition that consists of the US and Saudi Arabia to stop the Kurds from reaching the Syrian/Turkish border.
Al-Rai has come to know “The Turkish-Saudi intervention in Syria has been welcomed by Damascus and its allies, even though it's unlikely to happen”.
High ranking sources within the joints operation room in Aleppo, consisting of Syria, Russia, Iran, Hezbollah have confirmed to Al-Rai “ The joint military intervention of Turkey/Saudi Arabia and its allies, under the pretext of fighting ISIS is welcomed, in this way we rid ourselves from this bloody, and takfiri group, ISIS is a conglomerate of armed militias that can’t be fought as easily as classical armies. It requires an immense military effort and will come at a high price of personnel loss, the guerrilla warfare that has now been perfected by SAA/NDF and their allies, will be a nightmare for Western/Arab armies if they decide to intervene in Syria, though it may be improbable, but not impossible”.
The source adds “Russia will not accept Arab armies entering Syria under US cover, they will veto any proposal in the UNSC, moreover it will be impossible for these forces to enter Syria without previous coordination with Russia, since it has full control over Syria’s air space and will attack any force that is not coordinating with it, which makes an intervention impossible unless it is okayed by the super powers”

Washington’s Machiavellian Game in Syria
NEO 17.02.2016 Author: F. William Engdahl
One of my often-cited sayings is around 2,500 years old. It’s from the respected Chinese philosopher Sun Tzu in his small masterpiece, The Art of War. For centuries it’s been one of the most influential strategy writings not only in Asia, but also the Western world. It goes as follows:
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” Sun Tzu, The Art of War
In geopolitical analysis, when I examine a major political or economic development, it’s very important that I first look into myself, to feel if I’m blurring my analysis because of deep-felt personal wishes for a peaceful, more harmonious world, blurring the reality of a given nation or groups of nations. Similarly, if I take those malevolent patriarchs who dominate American and NATO policies today, I must be certain I know, not merely the surface of what an American President or Secretary of State might say on a given day. It can be a lie, a slick maneuver or it can be even honest. The work of any serious analyst is to sort out which it is, to go deeper, to “mine” the lode in order to see the real strategic implications.
Such is the case with finding out what is the real Washington policy—the economic and foreign policy today. For example, what is the real meaning and purpose behind the journey of the 92-year-old Henry Kissinger to Moscow to meet Vladimir Putin and others recently? What’s the real purpose of John Kerry when he appears to follow a policy more friendly towards Russia than, say, his Assistant Secretary Victoria Nuland or Secretary of Defense Ash Carter? Is it the voice of a significant faction within the foreign policy establishment that genuinely seeks a shift in Washington policy with Moscow from confrontation and war towards detente, diplomacy and a policy of peace and economic cooperation? What’s the real intent of the Roman Pope in wanting to come together with the Orthodox Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, the first such meeting between those two churches–east and west–since the Great Schism of 1054? Is that a positive step towards world peace or is it something ominous?
Washington: confusion or deception?
Continues http://journal-neo.org/2016/02/17/washington-s-machiavellian-game-in-syria/
The megalomaniacs and profiteers want to transfer their position of stuck in a quagmire [of their own creation] to Russia while making the quagmire as deep as possible using ME assets.
Zio philosophy. Why fight them ourselves when we can get them to fight each other?
Saudi is already a willing suicide bomber. But Turkey?

The Sauds have nothing to lose. The Queen can just give them Australia. Unless Mr Annett gets there first and starts a Kanata type republic.

Miss Me (by) Much: Pentagon Informs Russia About US Troops in Syria
Seeking to avoid potential escalation, the US revealed the locations of its special ops personnel in Syria to Moscow.
The disclosure was made beyond the scope of the existing memorandum of understanding (MOU) which was signed between the US and Russia in October 2015 in order to regulate safety protocols for their respective warplanes in the region.
"We provided a geographical area that we asked them to stay out of it because of the risk to US forces," Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook told journalists, according to Military Times.
"This was a step we took to try to maintain their safety in a dangerous situation and this was a request that we made to the Russians outside the scope of the memorandum of understanding… Up to this point, [the Russians] have honored this request," he added.

Analyst: Only the Blind Can't See That Russia is Protecting Europe in Syria

Translated by Ollie Richardson for Fort Russ
17th February, 2016
The goals that Moscow is pursuing in Syria do not pose a threat to the West but, on the contrary, they coincide with their interests, according to the specialist in international relations Roland Lombardi in an interview with the newspaper Atlantico.
"You have to be an idiot or blind not to notice that when Russia defends its interests in the Middle East, it simultaneously protects the interests of Europe and France," — said Lombardi.
According to the analyst, the only threat to the world community comes from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which the West consider allies. At the moment their double game with terrorist and Islamist groups, and their desire to bring the Salafis and "Muslim Brotherhood" to power in all the Arab States on the wave of the "Arab spring" has become apparent.

Libya’s interim government issued a statement saying that it “strongly condemns the airstrikes carried out by the US Air Force at certain positions in the town of Sabratha on Friday morning, February 19, 2016, without any coordination or consultation with the interim Libyan government.”
“Any interference, similar to the one that has taken place, will be considered an open and flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Libyan state and international law,” the statement said.

The French “Patriot Act”: Why is France Extending Its State of Emergency? From Pseudo-Democracy

The French “Patriot Act”: Why is France Extending Its State of Emergency? From Pseudo-Democracy to Dictatorship
Clamping Down on Freedom of Expression
By Guillaume Kress
Global Research, February 19, 2016
President Francois Hollande, whose legitimacy stems from nothing but a fraudulent multiparty electoral system, has repeatedly abused his authority since taking office in 2012 by waging illegal wars in foreign countries (i.e., Mali, Syria) without consulting his electors. [1]
He recently failed to confer with them when his Socialist government responded to last year’s terrorist attacks in Paris by adopting Orwellian domestic policies – policies that have allowed the Hollande administration to spy on citizens, block websites containing “terrorist related content”, strip convicted “terrorists” of French citizenship, and criminalize activism against Israeli occupation.[2]
These policies prevent the spread of information which may expose the government’s criminal activities. We should note, here, that the state of emergency greatly facilitates political corruption. [3]
To put it briefly, the state of emergency law turns France into a totalitarian police state which can act for a maximum period of 12 days without requiring judicial oversight or search warrants. Given France’s compliance with Zionist interests, it is not surprising that Human Rights Watch recently exposed the French government’s “abusive and discriminatory raids and house arrests against Muslims under its sweeping new state of emergency law.” This discrimination is not coming to an end any time soon, for Hollande’s administration just voted in favor of extending its state of emergency for three months.
Since the government can use its extraordinary powers to force journalists (via fear tactics like lawsuits and heavy fines) to comply with policies which emphasize security over freedom (i.e., censorship, spying), the state of emergency ironically prevents any independent investigation into the criminal activities that triggered the emergency in the first place.
Coming to a pseudo-democracy that affects you soon. Maybe even the banksters response to a vote to leave the EU, France as a dry run.

Is Uncle Sam Funding the Islamic State?
Where Does ISIS Get All Those Tanks, Weapons And Shiny New Toyota Trucks?
U.S. Treasury Dept. wonders
By Elizabeth Parker
Global Research, February 19, 2016
Reverb Press 8 October 2015
ISIS Toyotas
Toyota trucks aren’t all ISIS has managed to buy, capture or scavenge from us. In June, CNBC reported that so far we’ve accidentally furnished the Islamic State with at least $219.7 million worth of weapons, vehicles and other military supplies and gear — and that’s just the stuff we know about.
Yikes! Those evil, marauding terrorists from ISIS are still at large, but fear not: ISIS can’t escape from the U.S. and our allies for long. And when we get ’em, we’re going to kick their cartoonist/woman/gay/Christian-hating Jihadi butts from here until Sunday.
There’s just one problem. If we’re at war with ISIS, why do we keep supplying them with tanks, weapons, Humvees and shiny new Toyota trucks? CNN reports:
“They’re hard to miss. Packed with ISIS fighters and heavy weapons, Toyota pickup trucks and SUV’s are featured prominently in ISIS propaganda videos.”
According to ABC, the U.S. Treasury Dept.’s Terror Financing unit has finally taken notice of the endless parades of shiny, new Toyota trucks starring in ISIS’s propaganda videos, and they’ve launched an investigation. Toyota’s U.S. spokesman Ed Lewis told reporters this is part of a larger inquiry into supply chains and capital flows in the Middle East. Lewis promised Toyota’s full cooperation, and assures us that they’d never sell to terrorists.
“Toyota has a strict policy to not sell vehicles to potential purchasers who may use or modify them for paramilitary or terrorist activities, and we have procedures and contractual commitments in place to help prevent our products from being diverted for unauthorized military use.”
Whew. What a relief.
Toyota trucks: The jihadists’ truck of choice.
