Let’s unite against the project by Al-Qaïda and Daesh
by Thierry Meyssan
Voltaire Network Damascus (Syria) 30 September 2015

The conflict which has plunged Syria into mourning is not a war opposing different communities, but a war between two projects for society.

On one side, a modern, secular Syria, in other words, a society which is respectful of ethnic, religious, and political diversity ; on the other, the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood, who, since their creation in 1928, have been seeking to re-establish the Ottoman caliphate by means of jihad.

The Muslim Brotherhood claim that they wish to defend and propagate Islam. But their interpretation of the Qur’an excludes any spiritual experience of Allah, thus reducing it to a simple legal manual. They are preaching a religion without God.

From 1954, although the Muslim Brotherhood had assassinated two Egyptian Prime Ministers, the CIA decided to use them to destabilize the Soviet Union as well as to combat the Arab nationalist movements. As a result, Syria was obliged to deal with a murderous cycle of terrorist attacks (1978-82), until the military branch of the organisation was defeated at Hama.

In 1979, the Western powers decided to use the Muslim Brotherhood, with the help of Saudi Arabia, and under the command of Osama Bin Laden, to fight the Communist Afghan government. During the Cold War and afterwards, bin Laden’s men were used as a paramilitary force in ex-Yugoslavia (Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia), and then in the Russian Caucasus (Chechnya).

In 2005, Qatar took over from the Saudis. With their new sponsorship, the Brotherhood managed to convince some of us that they had changed, and that they were now able to exercise power. David Petraeus, against the advice of the White House, gave his support to the « Arab Spring ». At first won over by this movement, Tunisians, Egyptians, Libyans and Syrians quickly rose in revolt against the Brotherhood.

In 2012, the White House, exasperated, demanded the abdication of the Emir of Qatar and got rid of David Petraeus. The Muslim Brotherhood then placed themselves under the protection of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The situation entered a new phase with Daesh’s decision to proclaim a caliphate, despite the opposition of Al-Qaïda, for whom the time of the caliphate had not yet come. Little by little, the multitude of fanatical groupuscules in Africa and Asia who were inspired by the Brotherhood rallied together under the blood-stained sabre of the « Caliphe ». Terrorism mushroomed. After the political assassinations, after the para-military operations, the Brotherhood began ideological cleansing on a massive scale, purging the Sunni community and massacring all others, until, finally, they reigned only over a vast cemetery. They did not hide their ambition to overthrow all the Arab régimes and to attack us on our own territory.

It’s time to make a true assessment of the activity of the Brotherhood and check our a prioris, which have been based on the lies spread about this unfortunate alliance.

Faced with the uninterrupted tidal wave of jihadists from all over the world, including our own nation, the Syrians have chosen to save their own people before defending their own land. Currently, 12 million of them have been forced to flee the combat zones. 4 million are now refugees in neighbouring countries, while 8 million have been able to seek protection by moving to the territories administered by the Republic. Of the 19 million who have stayed in Syria, almost 500,000 are now in the clutches of the jihadists, spread out across a vast territory.

Since the creation of Baba Amr’s « Islamic Emirate » (2012), in all of the occupied territories, including those administered by the « Free Syrian Army », whom we qualify as « legitimate opposition », schools have either been closed or burned, alcohol is forbidden, women are not allowed to leave their homes without being veiled and accompanied by a man of their family, and polygamy has been legalised. Everywhere, including in countries which are our allies, and whom we call « democratic », the right to vote has been repealed, our common heritage has been destroyed, homosexuals are thrown from windows, and slavery has been re-established. The jihadists kidnap any women they like as spoils of war and abuse them. Children are inducted by force and used as soldiers, kamikazes, or executioners.

Syria is a Republic, in other words, its government serves the general interest under the control of universal suffrage. The fact that the Syrian people participated massively in their elections, and that the results were validated by the diplomats present in Damascus is enough to prove that statement. Since the signing of the Geneva Communique (2012), the Syrian government has scrupulously applied its recommendations, and the country moves every day a little closer to Democracy.

However, we remain blinded by the war propaganda of our allies, like that of the « Syrian Observatory for Human Rights », a London-based branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, or the « National Council », a non-elected assembly dominated by the Brotherhood. Consequently, we continue to accuse Syria of being a dictatorship, of using chemical weapons, or having killed 11,000 of their citizens under torture. And yet, we are not so sure – after the signature of the 5+1 agreement with Iran, the Coalition helped the Syrians to defend Al-Hasakah.

Our resentment towards them is the result of a misunderstanding. We have been persuaded that Syria sought the destruction of the Israeli people. This is untrue. Syrians are a peaceful people. Their only request, in conformity with the pertinent UNO resolutions, is the restitution of the Golan Heights, which are still illegally occupied. President Bill Clinton organised negotiations to this end, which failed only because of the inflexibility of the Israeli party, to which he attested in his memoirs. Syria now awaits the resumption - and closure - of these talks.

By supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, we have opened the gates of Hell. Let’s help the Syrians and the Iraquis to close them again. Let’s answer the appeal of President Putin. Together, let’s defeat barbarism, save civilisation, and re-establish peace.

Russia defending Syria from US-led terrorist invasion: American journalist
Thu Oct 1, 2015
Russia is conducting airstrikes against ISIL terrorists at the request of the Syrian government to defend the country from a US-led invasion, American journalist Don DeBar says.
Russia has launched airstrikes against Daesh (ISIL) terrorists at the request of the Syrian government to defend the country from a US-led invasion, an American political commentator and journalist says.
On Wednesday morning, Russian fighter jets carried out their first airstrike against ISIL terrorists near the Syrian city of Homs, which has seen some of the fiercest fighting between Syrian forces and foreign-sponsored militants since 2011.
Russia started the air campaign after the upper house of its parliament gave President Vladimir Putin the green light to use force in Syria. The government of President Bashar al-Assad had requested for Russian military support against Daesh.
Russia acts in coordination with Syria
In an interview with Press TV on Thursday, Don DeBar said Russia is implementing its defense agreements with Syria.
“The Syrian government, which is the legitimate government of Syria according to every measure by the UN… has agreements with Russia – mutual self-defense agreements, arms agreements and others – that are being implemented.”
“Russia is acting in coordination with the Syrian government to defend Syria from an invasion. This is an invasion, this is not a rebellion. They are not Syrians that are doing this fighting,” he emphasized.
“These are the people from other countries that are on tour, they were in Libya, they have been elsewhere in North Africa and the Middle East, and they will be going somewhere else once they are finished in Syria too,” he added.
“But what Russia is doing is coordinating with Syria to rid Syria of terrorists. Now the fact [is] that the United States has some terrorists that it simply guides into battle like ISIL or Daesh… and the so-called moderate rebels,” the analyst stated.
“They are all illegal,” DeBar said. “And the Syrian government has every right - and the responsibility, by the way - to protect the Syrian people from them. Russia has the right at the request of the Syrian government to help them do that.”
On Wednesday, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter criticized Russia’s policy in Syria as “contradictory,” saying its airstrikes in support of the Syrian government were “pouring gasoline on the fire.”
The Pentagon chief said that Russian airstrikes against Daesh terrorists were pointless while Moscow continued to support the Assad government.
“To fight [ISIL] without pursuing a political transition only risks a civil war,” Carter said. “That approach is tantamount to pouring gasoline on the fire.”
US worried about its proxy force
Commenting to Press TV, DeBar said that “the issue for our friend, Mr. Ashton Carter, is that his soldiers are now facing off against Russian airstrikes.”
“And the most interesting thing that comes out from Carter’s mouth is that this activity risks a civil war which is what the United States has been saying all along has been going on in Syria,” he stated.
“They [American officials] have termed their invasion, a rebellion, a civil war. They are now, not only tacitly but essentially admitting facially that it’s not a civil war, and one is being risked now,” the veteran journalist concluded.

Bank of England head warns of 'catastrophic' climate change
AFP September 29, 2015
London (AFP) - Climate change threatens global financial crises and long-term declines in wealth unless world leaders urgently seal a deal to limit it, the head of the Bank of England said on Tuesday.
"The challenges currently posed by climate change pale in significance compared with what might come," Mark Carney told business leaders in a speech in London.
"The far-sighted amongst you are anticipating broader global impacts on property, migration and political stability, as well as food and water security."

Putin: Claims Russian jets killed civilians in Syria emerged before airstrikes started
RT 1 Oct, 2015
Reports of alleged casualties among civilians caused by Russian airstrikes in Syria emerged even before Russian warplanes were launched for their first combat mission, President Vladimir Putin said, branding such reports 'information attacks.'
“Other nations have been bombing Syrian territory for over a year,” Putin told the Russian human rights council on Thursday, stressing that the US-led coalition invades the Syrian airspace with no UN mandate or invitation from Damascus.
“We have such an invitation and we intend to fight against terrorist organizations and them only,” Putin added.
Putin added that the US and Russia must establish a mechanism for sharing information about military action in Syria, which would allow the two nations to root out false reports.
“That’s why we are establishing contact between our special services and those of the US, between our military departments,” he said. “I hope it will result in the establishing of some permanent mechanism.”

Insult to our intelligence: New information war against Russia
Neil Clark 1 Oct, 2015 23:44
Talk about quick on the draw. No sooner had Russian planes taken off to bomb ISIS terrorists and their associates in Syria, claims made by the West’s anti-Russia lobby started to flood in – only to be repeated in much of the western mainstream media.
Russia wasn‘t really targeting ISIS but “moderate rebels” and its strikes killed scores of innocent civilians (unlike US strikes during which we only get “collateral damage”). We’ve seen lots of tweets attacking Russia and pictures of injured children and people being pulled out of buildings posted online.
Now there’s two possible explanations for the lightning fast way this new chapter in the “information war” against Russia has been launched.
The first is that the anti-Russian lobby have fantastic sources in Syria and know exactly who has been killed in air strikes moments after the bombs are dropped, or, in some cases possess clairvoyant powers and know who the victims will be even before the bombs fall. Also, that there are people on the ground with excellent high-speed Wi-Fi connections in a war zone who are able to post videos online of victims of Russian attacks with an alacrity that makes Usain Bolt look like a veritable slow coach.
The second alternative explanation is that the accusations and allegations that we’ve seen were already written up – filed and saved – and ready to be posted online as soon as Russia’s parliament authorized the use of military force in Syria, in order to discredit the operation. Although air strikes, even if planned with surgical precision can kill civilians – which is of course the number one reason for opposing them – I know which explanation I find the more plausible.
Media monitoring group Media Lens warned us what to expect:

All countries fighting against ISIS must be supported – French MP
Op-Edge 1 Oct, 2015
Any organization and state who fights against Islamic State must be backed by the West, says Thierry Mariani, French National Assembly member. The Assad government might not be the best, but it’s better than having terrorists in Syria, he added.
Everybody who is against terrorism should approve of Russia getting onto the area and involved in Syria, Thierry Mariani told RT commenting on Moscow’s decision to launch airstrikes against terrorists inside Syria. The American-led campaign against Islamic State has been going on for over a year and has yielded no result, he said.
“During a year there [have been] more than 7,000 attacks by [air forces] against Daesh. And we saw the result – the result is nothing,” Mariani said.
“Everybody must realize” now that the West should not repeat the same mistakes it made in Iraq and Libya, he said.
“That means, first, we must fight against Daesh. Second, we must … organize a transition in Syria,” the MP added.
To fight against Islamic State “we must back all the organizations, all the states” who can participate in it, Mariani noted.
He admitted that the Assad government might not be “the best”, but it is still better than having terrorists in the country.

400k cancer patients in ‘dire money situation’ facing further welfare cuts
Hundreds of thousands of cancer patients in the UK are struggling to pay their bills each month. Government cuts to welfare will make matters worse, according to Macmillan Cancer Support.
A survey found almost 400,000 people living with cancer – nearly half of all people diagnosed with the disease – are being forced into debt in order to survive during treatment.
A third of people within this group said their illness is directly affecting their money situation, as many patients cannot work during treatment.
The charity is calling on the government to reconsider further cuts to Britain’s welfare system, which threaten to make the situation worse for people with cancer.

Attorney Walter Kyle’s Reaction to Suing the Feds and Big Pharma
Activist Post September 30, 2015
Walter Kyle, one of the attorneys I network with regarding vaccine issues who has sued both Big Pharma and the United States over constitutional issues related to polio vaccines (see Loge v United States) emailed this response to my article “Attorney Suggests Suing U.S. Federal Government and Big Pharma Regarding Vaccinations”, which is:
After getting away with starting epidemic AIDS, the FDA and Big Pharma have a ‘Free Ride’ with the help of Hillary’s close friend…read Kyle’s article ‘Simian retroviruses polio vaccine and the Origin of AIDS’, The Lancet, 339:600-01 (7-Mar-1992).
The first step to such a lawsuit requires the Vaccine Compensation Act be declared unconstitutional or jurisdictional hurdles cannot be surmounted against the culprits.
The obvious basis for its unconstitutionality recently (with the advent of clinical proof of vaccine reactions) arose under the doctrine requiring ‘procedural due process’, for reason that, now the FDA blocks access to clinical tests capable of proving vaccine reactions, dictates the reactions compensated as ‘On-Table’ for fast tracked vaccines, and appoints the ‘judges’ (Special Masters) under an Act, which prohibits lawsuits against Big Pharma in State and Federal Courts and thus denies the injured (and any parents’ claim for loss of consortium) access to real courts of general jurisdiction.
To which Catherine would add, “What a legal racket we allow them to get away with!”
Catherine interviewed Attorney Kyle, and here’s that August 4, 2012 interview.

The Unfolding of Yinon’s “Zionist Plan for the Middle East”: The Crisis in Iraq and the Centrality of the National Interest of Israel
By Stephen Sniegoski -
Jul 14, 2014
“The Unfolding of Yinon’s ‘Zionist Plan for the Middle East’: The Crisis in Iraq and the Centrality of the National Interest of Israel,” illustrates how the ethno-sectarian fragmentation and internecine warfare between Shiites and Sunnis is in line with the Yinon plan to enhance Israel’s security and was ignited by the neocon-inspired US invasion of Iraq in 2003. Netanyahu and the neocons currently view Iran as a greater threat in the Middle East than ISIS, and while they advocate US military intervention, they emphasize that such intervention should not empower Iran, notes Stephen Sniegoski.
Greater Israel Plan MCS
by Stephen Sniegoski
Mainstream liberal David Ignatius observes in the ultra-establishment Washington Post:
“Let’s look at the reality on the ground in the Middle East: Iraq and Syria are effectively partitioned along sectarian lines; Lebanon and Yemen are close to fracturing; Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia survive intact but as increasingly authoritarian states.
“In the current, chaotic moment, we see two post-imperial systems collapsing at once: The state boundaries drawn by the Versailles Treaty in 1919 to replace the Ottoman Empire can’t hold the fractious peoples together. And a U.S.-led system that kept the region in a rough balance has been shattered by America’s failed intervention in Iraq.”[1]
The Washington Post expresses views that all respectable people are allowed, or even expected, to hold, so it is quite significant that this view now has emerged on center stage. Of course, it was not given any attention during the run-up to the US 2003 invasion of Iraq, when it could have served to prevent the chaos that has ensued, though it was mentioned by various Middle East experts, as was discussed in my book, The Transparent Cabal: The Neoconservative Agenda, War in the Middle East, and the National Interest of Israel.

America’s Other Al Qaeda
Activist Post September 23, 2015
By Tony Cartalucci
It is no longer tenable for the United States and its regional allies in and near the Middle East to claim they are backing “moderate rebels” in the proxy war raging in Syria, Iraq, and parts of Lebanon. There is the Syrian government on one side, and terrorists including Al Qaeda and its various franchises such as the Al Nusra Front and the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS/ISIL) on the other.
If one is not supporting the Syrian government, it is very clear they are supporting Al Qaeda. So obvious is this fact, that the Western press and the corporate-financier think tanks that produce for them their talking points, have begun a campaign to re-brand Al Qaeda as a lesser evil vis-a-vis ISIS. In reality, there is virtually no difference, with the US and its regional allies clearly arming, funding, and supporting both.
The most recent and obscene manifestation of this re-branding was US Army General and former CIA Director David Petraeus’ open calls to use Al Qaeda to “fight” ISIS. In the Daily Beast’s article, “Petraeus: Use Al Qaeda Fighters to Beat ISIS,” it was reported that:
Members of al Qaeda’s branch in Syria have a surprising advocate in the corridors of American power: retired Army general and former CIA Director David Petraeus.
The former commander of U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan has been quietly urging U.S. officials to consider using so-called moderate members of al Qaeda’s Nusra Front to fight ISIS in Syria, four sources familiar with the conversations, including one person who spoke to Petraeus directly, told The Daily Beast.

Within this rhetorical shift we find an admission that there is indeed no “moderate rebel” force to speak of. All that exists, admittedly, are extremists operating under the various banners of Al Qaeda and ISIS.
Revelations of America’s support behind Al Qaeda may not have ever been so overt, but are certainly nothing new. It is admitted that the US and its Saudi allies first created Al Qaeda as a proxy mercenary force to fight the Soviet Union in a proxy war in Afghanistan in the 1980s. In 2007, long before the current war in Syria broke out, it was warned by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Seymour Hersh in the pages of the New Yorker that under the then Bush administration, support already began to flow to the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria and other extremists groups including Al Qaeda for the purpose of violently undermining the Syrian government in Damascus.
Hersh’s article, “The Redirection: Is the Administration’s new policy benefiting our enemies in the war on terrorism?” it is explicitly stated:
To undermine Iran, which is predominantly Shiite, the Bush Administration has decided, in effect, to reconfigure its priorities in the Middle East. In Lebanon, the Administration has cooperated with Saudi Arabia’s government, which is Sunni, in clandestine operations that are intended to weaken Hezbollah, the Shiite organization that is backed by Iran. The U.S. has also taken part in clandestine operations aimed at Iran and its ally Syria. A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.
Past and present, it is clear that Al Qaeda was and still is a central instrument of the United States in achieving geopolitical objectives – particularly where Western forces cannot immediately or in any practical sense intervene directly.
But Al Qaeda and its various affiliates are only one faction among many terrorist groups minding the vast interests of American global hegemony. A recent bombing in the heart of Bangkok, capital of Southeast Asia’s nation of Thailand, and ongoing violence in China’s Xinjiang region expose another vast network of US-sponsored terrorism operating in tandem with Al Qaeda and in fact stretching from Asia all the way to frontiers of America’s proxy war with Syria.

Iran fights US appropriation of $1.7 billion
Oct 2, 2015
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has filed an appeal against a US court ruling to turn over Iranian funds worth $1.75 billion to alleged families of the victims of the 1983 bombing in Beirut.
The US Supreme Court says it has agreed to consider the appeal by the CBI which contends the ruling violates a 1955 US-Iran treaty.
The money, currently held in a trust account in New York, was ruled by the city’s court of appeals in 2014 to be handed over to the families of the victims. They accuse Iran of providing material support to carry out the attack which killed 241 US troops.
Iran denies the accusations. The country also says the ruling violates a treaty between the US and Iran which bans expropriation of one country’s properties in the territory of the other.
The legal battle comes at a delicate time as Iran and the United States seek to implement an accord signed in July to put their nuclear differences to rest.
The Obama government has urged the high court not to take up the case.
The US Congress has waded into the dispute, passing a law in 2012 to implement the court ruling. The tribunal must now decide whether the chambers have violated the US Constitution by dictating the outcome of a court case.

Russia raids hit Daesh bomb-making site
Oct 2, 2015
Russia says a bomb-making facility as well as a command post belonging to the Takfiri Daesh terror groups has been destroyed in Moscow’s anti-terror airstrikes in Syria.
On Friday, Russian media quoted Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov as saying that the country’s air forces carried out six precision strikes against Daesh positions in Syria.
“Sukhoi Su-25 attack planes have fully destroyed a large landmine and improvised explosive device production facility, which was disguised as a gas container plant, in the area of Maaret-al-Nuuman, Idlib province,” he said.
According to the Russian official, a nearby terrorist base was also dismantled in the attack.
Russian air forces targeted an underground militant command post in Hama Province.
