A Distorted Lens Justifying An Illegitimate Ukrainian Government
Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya
Why does Western media ignore critical information about the snipers that killed Euromaidan protesters in Ukraine?
Support it or oppose it, a coup d’état took place in Kiev after an EU-brokered agreement was signed by the Ukrainian government and the mainstream opposition on Feb. 21. The agreement called for power sharing between both sides through the formation of a national unity government and for an end to the opposition-led street protests in Kiev. President Viktor Yanukovych ordered the Ukrainian police and security forces to withdraw from their positions, and even earlier, he had made multiple concessions to the opposition leadership.
Instead of keeping its end of the bargain, the Ukrainian mainstream opposition executed a coup through the use of violence by organized ultra-nationalist gangs, which some analysts have compared to stay-behinds or secretive militias that were created by NATO during the Cold War.
These armed ultra-nationalist groups took over administrative bodies in Ukraine and fought until they managed to oust the Ukrainian government and opened the path for opposition leaders to take power on Feb. 25. The Ukrainian mainstream opposition used the EU-brokered agreement, which the Brussels-based European Commission deliberately refused to enforce, as a means of justifying the formation of a coup-imposed government.
In the absence of almost half the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, or Ukrainian Parliament, the opposition parties began to arbitrarily pass unconstitutional laws. They also unconstitutionally selected Oleksandr/Aleksandr Valentynovych Turchynov as the acting president of Ukraine before President Viktor Yanukovych was even impeached. Intimidation and violence were additionally used to secure the cooperation of any disagreeing parliamentarians or state officials in Kiev.
Saying that the ultra-nationalists and fascists are marginal elements, the mainstream media networks in North America and the European Union have simply dismissed the armed ultra-nationalist groups involved in the coup that are presently integrated into the putsch regime running Kiev.
The militant ultra-nationalists, however, are very influential and amassing power under the illegal premiership of Arseniy Yatsenyuk.  Yatsenyuk, himself, is from Yulia Tymoshenko’s notoriously corrupt All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland Party (Batkivshchyna) and essentially a U.S. and EU appointee. There is even a pre-coup leaked telephone interception, likely either recorded by the intelligence services of Russia or Ukraine, in which U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victory Nuland says that Yatsenyuk will be appointed as the prime minister of the Ukrainian government that the U.S. is putting together.
-Act two of the Orange Revolution
-The invisible Ukrainian ultra-nationalists
-Western media silence about the snipers in Ukraine
[...] According to a leaked telephone conversation on Feb. 26 between Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and European Union Commissioner Catherine Ashton, which was leaked by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU/SSU) , the snipers who shot at protesters and police in Kiev were allegedly hired by Ukrainian opposition leaders. Estonian Foreign Minister Paet made the statements on the basis of details he was given by one of the head doctors of the medical team of the anti-government protests, Olga Bogomolets, an opponent of Viktor Yanukovych’s government who wanted it removed from power.
Paet tells Ashton the following first: “There is now stronger and stronger understanding that behind the snipers, it was not Yanukovych, but it was somebody from the new coalition.”
This is also corroborated by the fact that Yanukovych actually had ordered the Ukrainian riot police and security forces not to use lethal force.
The Estonian official then mentions that it was verified to him that the same snipers were killing people on both sides. He tells Ashton the following:
“And second, what was quite disturbing, this same Olga [Bogomolets] told as well that all the evidence shows that the people who were killed by snipers from both sides, among policemen and then people from the streets, that they were the same snipers killing people from both sides.”
[...] The commandant of the SSU, Major-General Oleksandr Yakimenko, has testified that his counter-intelligence forces were monitoring the CIA in Ukraine during the protests. According to the SSU, the CIA was active on the ground in Kiev and collaborating with a small circle of opposition figures. Yakimenko has also said that it was not the police or government forces that fired on the protesters, but snipers from the Philharmonic Building that was controlled by the opposition leader Andriy Parubiy, which he asserts was interacting with the CIA.

Russia Extends its Control over the Black Sea and Strategic Waterways

Michel Chossudovsky (CRG) : The decision of Crimea to join the Russian Federation has strategic and geopolitical implications. The union of Crimea with Russia redefines both the geography as well as the geopolitical chessboard in the Black Sea basin. It constitutes a major setback for US-NATO, whose longstanding objective has been to integrate Ukraine into NATO with a view to undermining Russia, while extending Western military presence in the Black Sea basin.

Protest the NATO Summit
No to NATO. No to War. No to Austerity.
On 4th & 5th September 2014 the NATO summit will be taking place at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport. We will be opposing it. Join in!

Wales could see its biggest protests in a generation as 60 world leaders meet at the Celtic Manor in Newport for the NATO summit on 4th -5th September to plan their war on the world. Previous summits in Chicago and Strassbourg saw thousands protest war, austerity and global inequality.
From August 30th people will flock to South Wales for international actions including a weekend march and Counter Summit, week-long peace camp, and protests on the summit’s opening day.
NATO is the military alliance binding Europe to US foreign policy, a foreign policy post-Iraq increasingly unpopular around the world. It is also the military alliance currently occupying Afghanistan.
War is the enemy of the poor. The world’s 85 richest people have as much as poorest 3.5 billion. The annual sum needed to end world hunger is $30 billion while the US Military’s budget is $530 billion per year.
Money into war is money out of our communities. In the UK, 500,000 people had to resort to food banks last year. While public services are slashed, one day of war in Afghanistan could fund 100,000 nurses.
This autumn the powerful will make their voices heard at the NATO summit. We must make sure that the voice of the millions around the world who need peace and justice is also heard.

Israeli Defense Minister Suggests Military Action against Iran because the US is “Weak”

Israeli airstrikes escalate tensions with Syria
JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli warplanes unleashed a series of airstrikes on Syrian military posts early Wednesday, killing one soldier and wounding seven in one of the most serious clashes between the countries in the past four decades.
The airstrikes came in retaliation for a roadside bombing a day earlier in the Golan Heights that wounded four Israeli soldiers on patrol along the tense frontier with Syria. The overnight raids marked a sharp escalation of activity for Israel, which largely has stayed on the sidelines during Syrian President Bashar Assad's battle against rebels trying to topple him.
It is unclear which of the many groups fighting in Syria may have planted Tuesday's bomb. But Israel has said it holds Assad responsible for any attacks emanating from his country, and accused his forces of allowing the attack to take place.
"Our policy is clear. We hurt those who hurt us," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said Assad would "regret his actions" if attacks continue.

NATO chief: Russian aggression is 'wake-up call'
WASHINGTON (AP) — Russia's advances in Ukraine are the greatest threat to European security since the Cold War, NATO's chief was expected to argue, in a speech Wednesday making clear the international military alliance must refocus on risks closer to home after years of fighting in far-away war zones.
"This is a wake-up call," NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said in remarks prepared for a Washington think-tank. An advance copy was obtained by The Associated Press.
He lambasted Moscow's annexation of Ukraine's strategic Crimea Peninsula as illegal and illegitimate, and repeated NATO's decision to suspend a joint maritime escort with Russia for the destruction of Syria's chemical weapons. Additionally, Rasmussen was expected to outline bolstered military measures under preparation for NATO states, if needed, to respond to Russia, including surveillance flights over Poland and Romania, and additional assets for an airspace protection mission over Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
"This is the gravest threat to European security and stability since the end of the Cold War," Rasmussen said in the prepared afternoon speech at the Brookings Institution
And so on http://news.yahoo.com/nato-chief-russian-aggression-wake-call-151125296--politics.html
Did he mention the gas supply? Eff the proles.
Predictably NASTO is not a little upset at being checkmated, as for Obama knocking his king over, well you can imagine, Rasmussen and all the zio upper hierarchy saying, "Well fancy that."
All the usual stunts to follow. The only question is whether the EC will seek secession from the West to avoid getting stuffed by Russia for NASTO SNAFUs.

Anxiety grows in Europe as Transnistria asks for Russian annexation
Following the annexation of Crimea, the Russian-controlled province of Transnistria in Moldova has asked to join Russia, triggering concerns over the region's future stability, as experts lay down worst-case scenarios.
As Transnistrian authorities requested from the Russian Federation on 17 March to integrate their breakaway province, following the Crimean example, the Romanian president, Traian Basescu warned in an interview with Associated Press that Moldova was in “great danger”.
Transnistria, inhabited by a majority of Russian-speaking citizens, separated from Moldova when the USSR collapsed in 1991, citing fears that once independent, Moldova would eventually “join Romania”, of which it was a part before World War II.
The Romanian president, who is known for his own irredentist comments about Moldova, told the press that Kyiv and Chi?inau were a “priority for Vladimir Putin who wants to rebuild the Soviet Union.”
“If you look at the map, you will see this chain of frozen conflicts” around the Black Sea “that can be set off at any time,” Basescu was quoted as saying.
The concern is shared by EU officials, although nobody dares to go as far as the Romanian head of state in the wording: “there is anticipation in the EU that Russia will do something, and that it will increasingly be bullying the countries in the region,” an EU source told EurActiv.
“His concerns are in line with other member states who are voicing concerns about the issue, we know that Putin will do something in Georgia and Moldova.”
Destabilisation 'with all means'
Moscow began the campaign to unsettle Moldova when a pro-European government took over from the pro-Russian Communists in 2009, and started working on an Association Agreement with the EU.

MoA - Ukraine: Just Some News Items
[...] There was a something like a sniper attack at a military base used by Ukrainian soldiers in Simferopol. One Ukrainian soldier was allegedly killed and one wounded. On the other side one member of the Crimean self defense forces was killed. Both sides claim not to have shot at each other. This may well have been a provocation by an unknown third forces which snipped at both sides of a potential conflict. From the BBC Live text (18:42):
"An officer in the Ukrainian military describes the violence at the military base in Simferopol to Ukrainian television: "One observer was on a rooftop monitoring the situation; he sustained glancing wounds to the neck and shoulder. They say he is being operated on now. Our second observer was on the car park tower. He was shot dead. I personally did not see him. They say his body is still there. Representatives of the Russian Federation and of the Crimean self-defence state that they also have one fatality and one wounded. We did not return fire. We did not fire."
From Russia Today:
"The Kryminform news agency, citing an unnamed local police source, reports shooting came from a house under construction opposite the center and targeted Crimean self-defense units as well the military center itself. “Earlier today self-defense units were informed that a group of armed men had been discovered in a partially inhabited building,” a source from the ministry said. “As they were taking measures to check, self-defense units came under fire. One man was killed, one wounded,” the source explained, adding that shooting came “in two directions from one spot”.
"The Kryminform source claimed another man from the military center was wounded."
"RT’s producer contacted staff inside the military center, who confirmed that the shooting did take place and came from a nearby house under construction. At the same time, the man had no information on the casualties."
Such provocations could start a serious incident. The Ukrainian and the Russian side should ask their soldiers to hold back form violence against each other. At the same time any sign of a third force must be followed up upon immediately and be hunted down.

As Predicted, Ukraine Crisis Used to Argue for a Centralized Europe
George Soros Predicts Ukraine Could Ruin The EU
[...] At this point in his career Soros is little more than an apologist for the interests he once confronted and extracted US$1 billion from. The Queen herself called him then, so long ago, and spoke to him privately and Soros has been a changed man from then on. He's become a fervent apologist for the very Money Power he once expertly milked.
It is interesting as well that Soros has a new book out on the very issues that he is now championing. Did Soros have some special, "insider" information that such a crisis was looming? This would certainly correspond to our suspicions about what we call directed history.
Over and over, we see crises forming that are then debated by the power elite and used to pass new regulations and laws that inevitably reinforce Leviathan's inexorable expansion.
Directed history is often nonsensical because it is the outcome of specific intentions. It is not logical because, often, it cannot be, and Soros's arguments in this article are similarly confused.

John McCain's 11-Step Plan To Impose "Costs" On Russia
U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement on the need to provide greater support to Ukraine and impose additional costs on Russia in the wake of the Russian government’s annexation of Crimea today... clearly seeking the diplomatic way out...
Statement by Senator John McCain on Ukraine
“In response to the Russian government’s annexation of Crimea today, the United States should provide greater support to Ukraine and impose additional costs on Russia, including:
“Pass the bipartisan legislation that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved last week, which authorizes $1 billion in loan guarantees for Ukraine, democracy and security assistance for Ukraine, targeted sanctions against Russian officials, and steps to strengthen the IMF’s ability to be a stronger partner to Ukraine.
“Work with NATO to rush plane-loads of food and other humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian soldiers and civilians in eastern Ukraine.
“Work through the OSCE to approve and deploy a large civilian monitoring mission in eastern Ukraine that could help set the record straight about alleged threats to ethnic Russians and reveal Putin's effort to inflame the situation as a pretext for further aggression.
“Rush the modest military assistance to the Ukrainian government that its leaders have requested, including some small arms and ammunition, as well as significant non-lethal assistance, such as protective equipment, spare parts, fuel, and sharing of intelligence.
“Work with NATO and other partners to support the Ukrainian government in designing and resourcing a long-term assistance program to rebuild and reform Ukraine’s military.
“Enhance NATO's force presence, security cooperation, and military exercises, especially in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries.
“Work within NATO to take all necessary steps that can prepare for the expansion of the alliance to include countries such as Georgia and Montenegro as soon as possible.
“Expand significantly the U.S. and E.U. targeted sanctions against the most corrupt Russian government officials, companies, and financial institutions.
“Use the Magnitsky Act to sanction additional Russian officials for their gross violations of human rights.
“Take more assertive steps to isolate Russia internationally, including by repeated votes in the U.N. Security Council and a G-7 boycott of the G-8 Summit in Sochi.
“Take steps to permit and enhance the exportation of U.S. oil and natural gas, especially to NATO allies and other European partners, in order to decrease Europe's reliance on Russian supplies of energy.
“The United States and our allies and partners must remain committed to supporting the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which includes Crimea.”
And the US public can go eff themselves. Starve to death, who gives a monkeys.

A response to the news US-NATO exercises in Ukraine would go ahead?
Russia Launches Military Aviation "Drills" Near East Ukraine
Just days before the annexation of Crimea, while promising that they would not instigate actions to antagonize the West, Russia launched a massive unscheduled military drill. Now, with Crimea under their pro-Russian forces control, and despite promises that Putin seeks to go no further than Crimea, the Wall Street Journal reports that Russia will begin unscheduled military aviation exercises in regions bordering Ukraine. The crews will be practicing "actions during airstrikes" on enemy military targets, communications jamming, air defense and attacks by military jets, the spokesman said.

Wake up dopey Nazemroaya.
"Why does Western media ignore critical information about the snipers that killed Euromaidan protesters in Ukraine?"

Poor old Mahdi Nazemroaya, still as flakey as ever. He shouldn't be so one sided and report on things such as Russia closing down any alternative news sites and spewing out blatent propaganda on State owned television from where most Russians get their news. Does he think that someone like Putin, who is known to have critics murdered, is incapable of orchestrating his own criminal black ops to stir things up to his advantage. The old conspiracy thing works both ways you know.

Radio intercepts of KGB thugs talks confirm Russians using snipers against protesters in Ukraine

""The record was made as a result of radio intercepts roughly from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Only a part of talks was recorded. After the start of a massive fire, we had to pick up and evacuate our equipment", the authors of a video placed on YouTube say and then continue:

- I think the deaths on Maidan Square in Kiev are mostly on the conscience of these bastards. If someone can identify by true names the thugs who use radio calls similar to prison nicknames - please report, it will be interesting.

I also urge radio amateurs who might have recorded, as I did, the talks at frequency of 447.740MHz to publish these records, since unfortunately I could not record them in full".
In turn, many commentators point out the obvious facts. The snipers are not Ukrainians, they speak fluent Russian without Ukrainian accent. The style of communication is familiar to those who faced Russians during fights in the Caucasus.

Therefore, it can be suggested that these are KGB brigades sent to Ukraine on Putin's orders.

The video requires no further comments.

White House Spokeswoman claims Russia behind Sniper Killing in Crimea
babbles unintelligible Accusations to Journalist’s Question

Christof Lehmann (nsnbc) : Following yesterday’s sniper killing in Crimea, following the same m.o. as the sniper killings in Kiev, ordered by members of the post-coup government, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki blamed Russia for the incident. Asked by a journalist to explain how the U.S. possibly can blame the killing on Russia, the White House official said “I think we are ready to move on, next question please”. Earlier this year, Psaki deflected attention from the U.S. micro-management of the armed coup in Kiev by blaming Russia for espionage and the release of an audio of a phone call between State Department official Victoria Nuland and U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt.
Yesterday, unidentified snipers killed two near a Crimean military facility. Following the incident, the Crimean Republic’s Interior Ministry published a press release, saying that the shooting came from a house under construction, opposite the center. The snipers targeted members of the Crimean self-defense units as well as the Military Research Center itself, states the Ministry. The press release reads:
“Earlier today self-defense units were informed that a group of armed men had been discovered in a partially inhabited building. … As the self-defense were taking measures to check, they came under fire, presumably from a sniper rifle (police said that the fire was shot) “in two directions from one spot.”
White House spokesperson Jen Psaki claimed, and then at a press briefing at the White House, that “Russia fired the first shot” in the incident. A journalist asked Psaki about a Tweet:
“In your tweet it states that it is clear that Russia fired the first shot, and that’s a pretty serious allegation, so, we are just curious..”
The White House spokeswoman interrupted the journalist, saying:
“Well, we don’t see that it’s possibly true, that the Russian claim, that, huh, they were, huh, that they were not, huh, that someone else, huh, was the aggressor, huh, that the Ukrainians were the aggressor, huh, can possibly be true, given that they entered the Ukrainian base”.
The journalist clarified that Crimean officials had described the killings as a provocation and asked Psaki to clarify. Her response after her previous, almost unintelligible, accusatory babbling, was:
”I have said that already.. I think we are ready to move on!!!!”
The incident happened yesterday, near a military cartography facility in the Crimean capital Simferopol. Local authorities are currently investigating the incident, but confirmed that shots were fired from one location, in two directions, following exactly the m.o. that snipers, hired by members of the new government in Kiev, used when killing 90 and injuring more than 500 police officers and protesters.

Ashton: EU does not want to isolate Israel – but sanctions Russia
nsnbc : The European Union’s Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton said that the EU does not want to isolate Israel, but asks Israel to comply with international law with regards to Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory. At the same time, Ashton endorsed the US peace plan for Israel and Palestine, which proposes a continued occupation by Israel or NATO. The statement came after EU foreign ministers discussed sanctions against Russia over the referendum in Crimea.
Ashton made the statement during a press conference of the EU’s 28 foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday, where the EU ministers met to discuss the crisis between Russia and the EU, G7, USA and NATO, over the situation in the Ukraine and Crimea, which has held a referendum and will acceed into the Russian Federation and sanctions against Russia.
Ashton slammed Russia for what the EU perceives as an illegal referendum in Crimea. On Monday, the EU imposed sanctions against Russia and will impose more sanctions over this week.
The sanctions come, as the situation in Ukraine threatens to escalate into civil war, and as the western-imposed new government in Kiev masses heavy military equipment and tanks along the Russian border.

West reaffirming its exceptionalism at the expense of int’l law – Lavrov
The Ukrainian crisis has proved that the West has been seeking to reaffirm its exceptionality at the expense of international law, Russia's foreign policy chief Sergei Lavrov said today.
"The existing crisis situation in Ukraine wasn't our doing. It is an internal crisis that was largely provoked from the outside and aggravated by constitutional violations," Lavrov said Thursday at the meeting of Russia's regional representatives on foreign policy.
The Russian foreign minister noted that President Putin had stressed multiple times in his 18 March speech that the defeat of the bi-polar system had effectively undermined global stability.
"There are 'tectonic shifts' going on in the balance of powers," Mr. Lavrov said. "The West is now trying to freeze these processes."
