Impeachment of Holder Now Official
Representative Pete Olson (TX-22) has now made the impeachment of Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder official by filing H.Res 411, a Resolution impeaching Eric H. Holder, Jr., Attorney General of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors.
In a statement announcing that he had officially introduced the Articles of Impeachment, Representative Olson said, “For nearly five years, Attorney General Holder has systematically deceived Congress and destroyed the credibility of the Justice Department in the eyes of the American people. During his tenure, Mr. Holder refused to cooperate with a congressional investigation into Operation Fast and Furious and the resulting death of a Border Patrol agent, refused to prosecute IRS officials who unlawfully disclosed private tax records to third party groups, and misled Congress about his involvement in the investigation of a journalist.”
Congressman Olson further noted that, “Last year, the House voted to hold Mr. Holder in contempt of Congress, making him the first sitting cabinet member to ever hold this dubious distinction. Still, he continued mislead and thwart congressional efforts to bring the truth to the American people. Mr. Holder has failed to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed and continues to act in a manner unbefitting of a cabinet official. I urge my colleagues to join me in beginning this process by cosponsoring this measure now. The American people deserve answers and accountability.”

Nineteen Members of the House joined Representative Olson as original co-sponsor the resolution; they are Representatives Larry Bucshon (IN-8), Blake Farenthold (TX-27), Phil Roe (TN-1), Lynn Westmoreland (GA-3), Roger Williams (TX-25), Randy Weber (TX-14),Ted Yoho (FL-3), Louie Gohmert (TX-1), Michele Bachmann (MN-6), Bill Flores (TX-17), Mark Amodei (NV-2), Jim Bridenstine (OK-1), Scott DesJarlais (TN-4), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Duncan Hunter (SC-3), Sam Johnson (TX-3), Steve Stockman (TX-36), Mike Conaway (TX-11), and Thomas Massie (KY-4) as original cosponsors.

The articles of impeachment lay out four charges against Mr. Holder:
1. Refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on October 12, 2011, seeking information and documents regarding Operation Fast and Furious. This is a violation of 2 U.S.C. 192.
2. Failure to enforce multiple laws, including the Defense of Marriage Act, the Controlled Substances Act, and the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986. This is a violation of the oath Mr. Holder swore to "well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office" of Attorney General.
3. Refusal to prosecute the IRS officials involved in the targeting and disclosure of tax records belonging to political donors. This is a violation of the oath Mr. Holder swore to "well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office" of Attorney General.
4. False testimony under oath before Congress on May 15, 2013, about the Justice Department investigation of journalist James Rosen. This is a violation of 18 U.S.C. 1621.

We agree with Pete Olson and his nineteen co-sponsors: Holder's behavior clearly falls under "high crimes and misdemeanors," offenses that the US Constitution explicitly defines as grounds for removal of a Senate-confirmed cabinet official through impeachment. The time is now for the House of Representatives to act with the authority vested in it by the Constitution to remove Attorney General Holder from office.

The Capitol Switchboard is 1-866-220-0044, we urge you to contact your Congressman today and tell him or her to support Pete Olson and to sign onto the impeachment resolution he is circulating.

Two US district courts to take up challenges to NSA surveillance programs
Madison Ruppert
Two U.S. district courts are slated to hear challenges to National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance programs filed by both liberal and conservative groups while the Supreme Court is also going to possibly hear a case on the issue.
This is especially noteworthy given that the Supreme Court refused to review a lawsuit challenging NSA surveillance last year. Previous court cases have brought out what were quite shocking statements at the time, but any case would likely be much more revealing now given the many leaks.
On Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Richard Leon will hear Larry Klayman, a former Reagan administration lawyer, argue for preliminary injunctions to be issued against the government’s major domestic surveillance programs.
Klayman is focusing on the mass collection of domestic call records from U.S. telephone companies and the collection of “cellphone and computer data from major wireless companies and Internet service providers,” according to USA Today.
Another case is being brought by the American Civil Liberties Union.
On Friday, U.S. District Judge William Pauley will hear the ACLU’s request for a preliminary injunction against the telephone surveillance program.
The ACLU will argue that the USA Patriot Act does not authorize the widespread spying currently being done by the NSA based on the First and Fourth Amendments.
“This whole NSA thing unites both political ideologies,” Klayman said. “The whole country is outraged.”
Indeed, recent protests have shown that it is an issue appealing to a wide range of political and social positions.
The issue has also been taken up by individuals from both parties in Washington. Yet the Obama administration is fighting hard against any attempts to bring accountability to the surveillance programs.
“Neither the statute nor the Constitution permits the government to engage in that kind of dragnet surveillance of hundreds of millions of people who haven’t done anything wrong,” said Jameel Jaffer, deputy legal director for the ACLU.

Enemy gov't. Preventable cold deaths not prevented
Year after year. The Cameron regime will likely preside over a new record this winter, saving the state and corporations a fortune in pension payments.

Don’t go cold on Winter Fuel Payments James Lloyd
With thousands of older people dying unnecessarily each winter because of cold homes, it’s good that this issue is finally getting some attention. We need a more co-ordinated approach and must resist attempts to scrap or means test Winter Fuel Payments
What a difference a year makes. Political rows about rising fuel prices and fuel poverty, Sir John Major’s attack on the government’s energy policy, and the publication of Public Health England’s annual ‘Cold Weather Plan’, have suddenly pushed excess winter deaths to the top of the news agenda.
Such attention is long overdue. One of the biggest public policy challenges – and national scandals facing society – is the prevalence of preventable excess winter deaths each year, numbering around 24,000 older people.
Year after year, such deaths – and the wider £1.36bn annual cost of cold-related illness to the NHS in England – go completely ignored in the Westminster bubble and among the political commentariat.
A key reason is that excess winter deaths are a multi-layered problem with multiple causes, including human behaviour, poorly insulated homes, rising fuel prices, and the fact that many older people are simply unaware of their own physiological changes as they age, and their increased vulnerability to the cold.
Unfortunately, government policy responses over the years have been as confusing as the problem itself. You can identify major policy programmes to address the effect of cold on households across – count ‘em – four government departments: Work & Pensions, Health, Energy & Climate Change and Communities & Local Government
However, the policies put in place by these departments have been largely uncoordinated, and there has been no overall government strategy to bring down excess winter deaths linking across multiple departments.
In a report entitled ‘Cold Enough’ published earlier this year, the Strategic Society Centre recommended:
• A single national ‘at-risk’ register for the cold, integrating DWP, energy company, GP and local authority data.
• Giving clinical commissioning groups responsibilities for excess winter deaths.
• Enabling CCGs and Health and Wellbeing Boards to refer households for free home insulation under the government’s Energy Company Obligation.
• Making excess winter deaths and cold-related illness a ministerial priority.
But perhaps even before any of this, we need to kick out the ageism and ignorance that continues to see well-paid, working-age, London-based commentators repeatedly taking aim at Winter Fuel Payments.
We know Winter Fuel Payments boost household expenditure on fuel, and represent a highly effective behavioural policy response to a behavioural policy problem: ‘fear of the heating switch’ among older people living on a fixed income, that is exacerbated by round after round of announcements on energy price increases.
Underlying attacks on the Winter Fuel Payment is the lazy – and wrong – assumption that excess winter deaths and cold-related illness among older people are limited to those on low incomes and who receive means-tested benefits. If politicians want to cut the State Pension by £200 per year – fine – but scrapping or means-testing Winter Fuel Payments, as many pundits would like to do, would cost lives and cost the NHS.
As autumn turns to winter, we stand on the brink of another 24,000 older people in 21st century Britain dying because of the cold weather. It is high time this issue got the attention it deserves.

The individual vs. the planned society
Jon Rappoport
Increasingly, the populations of countries would be regulated and directed and held in thrall to the State.
And the individual? He would go the way of other extinct species.
For several decades, the pseudo-discipline called “social science” had been turning out reams of studies and reports on tribes, societal groupings, and so-called classes of people.
Deeply embedded in the social sciences were psychological warfare specialists who, after World War 2, emerged with a new academic status and new field of study: mass communications.
Their objective? The broadcasting of messages that would, in accordance with political goals, provoke hostility or pacified acceptance in the masses.
Hostility in support of new wars; acceptance of greater domestic government control.
Nowhere in these formulas was the individual protected. He was considered a wild card, a loose cannon, and he needed to be demeaned, made an outsider, and characterized as a criminal who opposed the needs of the collective.
As the years and decades passed, this notion of the collective and its requirements, in a “humane civilization,” expanded. Never mind that out of view, the rich were getting richer and poor were getting poorer. That fact was downplayed, and the cover story– "share and care" —took center stage.
On every level of society, people were urged to think of themselves as part of a greater group. The individual and his hopes, his unique dreams, his desires and energies, his determination and will power…all these were portrayed as relics of an unworkable and deluded past.
In many case, lone pioneers who were innovating in directions that could, in fact, benefit all of humanity, were absorbed into the one body of the collective, heralded as humane…and then dumped on the side of the road with their inventions.
Their breakthroughs could upset favored monopolies and actually elevate the lives of people. Therefore, men like Tesla and Buckminster Fuller had to be buried.
In other cases, there was very little praise before burial. Wilhelm Reich, Dr. William Frederick Koch, Royal Rife.
In the planned society, no one rises above the mass, except those men who run and operate and propagandize the mass.
In order to affect the illusion of individual success, as a kind of safety valve for the yearnings of millions of people, the cult of celebrity emerged. But even there, extraordinary tales of rise and then precipitous fall, glory and then humiliation, were and are presented as cautionary melodramas.
The onrush of technocracy gears its wild promises to genetic manipulation, brain-machine interfaces, and other automatic downloads assuring “greater life.” No effort required. Plug in, and ascend to new heights.
If the individual has any place in this future, it is: working at a job, keeping his or her head down, supporting the family, gradually wearing down, and dying. In more and more cases, the job is within, or attached to, government.
Freedom? Independence? Old flickering dreams vicariously viewed on a screen.
Individual greatness, imagination, creative power? A sunken galleon loaded with treasure that, upon closer investigation, was never there to begin with.
The plan is all that is important. The plan involves universal surveillance, in order to map the lives of billions of people, move by move. In order to design systems of control within which those billions live, day to day.
But the worst outcome of all is: the individual cannot even conceive of his own life and future in large terms. The individual responds to tighter and control with a shrug, as if to say, “What difference does it make?”
He has bought the collectivist package. His own uniqueness and inner resources are submerged under layers of passive acceptance of the consensus.
And make no mistake about it, this consensus reality, for all its exaltation of the group, is not heraldic in any sense. The propagandized veneer covers a cynical exploitation of every man, woman, and child.
Strapped by an amnesia about his own freedom and what it can truly mean, the individual opts for a place in the collective gloom. He may grumble and complain, but he fits in.
He can’t remember another possibility.

Dead, Lifeless Food
Brad Jordan
“So what exactly is the government going to do to make our food safer?” I was wondering the other day. While I hoped for the labeling of GMO’s and the removal and the word “natural” from products that aren’t natural, I knew the FDA would come up with an idea like putting port-a-potties with sinks in the middle of farm fields. And sure enough, that’s exactly what they did. With that, they also want food heated at higher temperatures to kill any bacteria that may be present, good or bad, and a host of other ill-conceived ideas that will prevent us from accessing nutrient-dense foods.
Brad talks with Judith McGeary, founder of Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of independent farmers, ranchers, and homesteaders. Judith is also an attorney, a farmer, and a Weston A. Price Foundation chapter leader in Austin, Texas.

Dutchsinse video prompts Filipino scientist to deny geophysics and HAARP technology
Rady Ananda
When avid weather watcher Michael Janitch (aka Dutchsinse) uploaded a video showing that microwave pulses preceded the formation of Typhoon Yolanda-Haiyan before it hit the Philippines, the video went viral, prompting several Filipinos to send it to local news stations asking for an explanation.
Reputable news sites covered Janitch’s information, which must have really bunched up the tighty whities of military figures, because within days the same news sites called out this ‘conspiracy theorist’ and denied basic physics that microwaves can and do impact weather.

Re: Re anonymous comment
Scientist debunks 'man-made' typhoon claims.

"MANILA – University of the Philippines scientist and professor Dr. Mahar Lagmay on Monday belied a viral video claiming that super typhoon “Yolanda” (international name Haiyan) was a man-made disaster.

Lagmay, who is also the executive director of Project Noah, stressed that the man behind the video, who only identified himself as Dutchsinse, failed to prove his hypothesis that “Yolanda” was caused by a technology that emits microwave pulses.

“I see no relation as of the moment… There’s no very solid demonstration of its (microwave pulse) relation with how it generates cyclones, how this makes the water evaporate and accumulate in a particular area. It’s simply not well-documented,” he said.

“You don’t prove something through your golden voice or the way you speak it out… What he was doing is that he was trying to name-drop Stanford University to boost his argument,” he added. “Let’s just put it this way. In science, you have to demonstrate it. It must be repeatable and it must be testable. He was not able to do that and, therefore, it’s not proven.”

Lagmay, who has watched the video, observed that Dutchsinse made other questionable claims.

“From the images he was showing, it would appear that the typhoon was already developed when he was showing the microwave pulses that were being transmitted. And the second thing that I noticed was that he was also relating the microwave pulses with the occurrence of earthquakes, and what we know about earthquakes is that they form because of the accumulation of energy due to earth movements," Lagmay pointed out.

“And through time, this energy is accumulated along faults and it does not at all relate to any type of microwave he was referring to,” he added. “And, in that sense, I would think that that person who keeps on stating or mentioning the word Stanford to boost his credibility, I think is just pulling a trick on us.”

Lagmay went on to stress that while anyone is entitled to make a hypothesis, he or she must able to “prove it to be considered as something that is really happening.”

“He must be able to demonstrate it well, clearly. And it must be repeatable. As of this moment, there is no reason to believe this person,” he said."

Do BPA-free plastics still leach hormones into food?
[...] Almost all commercially available plastic products we sampled—independent of the type of resin, product, or retail source—leached chemicals having reliably detectable EA, including those advertised as BPA free. In some cases, BPA-free products released chemicals having more EA than did BPA-containing products.
A study published in Environmental Health Perspectives in 2011 found upsetting conclusions about many of the commercially available alternatives to BPA – a known hormone disruptor and suspected carcinogen:
Most Plastic Products Release Estrogenic Chemicals: A Potential Health Problem That Can Be Solved (Chun Z. Yang, Stuart I. Yaniger, [...] and George D. Bittner)
According to this study, the results from numerous stress tests involving high levels of UV and heat on several varieties of plastics were enough to give pause to consumer confidence, to say the least:

WIkileaks Revelations Confirms the Worst:
US Negotiators Treat Internet Freedom Like a Bargaining Chip
So long, free and open Internet if the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement goes through as planned.
After years of secret trade negotiations over the future of intellectual property rights (and limits on those rights), the public gets a chance to looks at the results. For those of us who care about free speech and a balanced intellectual property system that encourages innovation, creativity, and access to knowledge, it’s not a pretty picture.
On Thursday, Wikileaks published a complete draft of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement’s chapter on “intellectual property rights.” The leaked text, from August 2013, confirms long-standing suspicions about the harm the agreement could do to users’ rights and a free and open Internet. From locking in excessive copyright term limits to further entrenching failed policies that give legal teeth to Digital Rights Management (DRM) tools, the TPP text we’ve now seen reflects a terrible but unsurprising truth: an agreement negotiated in near-total secrecy, including corporations but excluding the public, comes out as an anti-user wish list of industry-friendly policies.

Google: data requests from US government more than tripled over past three years
Madison Ruppert
The requests for Google user data filed by the U.S. government have more than tripled over the least three years, according to the latest Google transparency report released Thursday.
It’s interesting to note that the government essentially forces the company to leave out a great deal of information in their transparency reports, indicating that the numbers are actually higher than those published in their reports.
In the first half of 2013 alone, the U.S. government submitted 10,918 requests for data on 21,683 Google users, according to the report.
Compare that figure to only 3,580 requests in the U.S. for the first half of 2009, the first period for which Google released data.

Geneva Talks on Iran’s Nuclear Program:
Lavrov Reveals Amended Draft Circulated at “Last Moment”, Russia not Consulted
WASHINGTON,(IPS) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed a crucial detail Thursday about last week’s nuclear talks with Iran in Geneva that explains much more clearly than previous reports why the meeting broke up without agreement.
Lavrov said the United States circulated a draft that had been amended in response to French demands to other members of the six-power P5+1 for approval “literally at the last moment, when we were about to leave Geneva.”
Lavrov’s revelation, which has thus far been ignored by major news outlets, came in a news conference in Cairo Thursday that was largely devoted to Egypt and Syria. Lavrov provided the first real details about the circumstances under which Iran left Geneva without agreeing to the draft presented by the P5+1.
The full quote from Lavrov’s press conference is available thanks to the report from Voice of Russia correspondent Ksenya Melnikova.
Lavrov noted that unlike previous meetings involving the P5+1 and Iran, “This time, the P5+1 group did not formulate any joint document.”
Instead, he said, “There was an American-proposed draft, which eventually received Iran’s consent.” Lavrov thus confirmed the fact that the United States and Iran had reached informal agreement on a negotiating text.
He further confirmed that Russia had been consulted, along with the four other powers in the negotiations with Iran (China, France, Germany and the UK), about that draft earlier in the talks –- apparently Thursday night, from other published information.
“We vigorously supported this draft,” Lavrov said. “If this document had been supported by all [members of the P5+1], it would have already been adopted. We would probably already be in the initial stages of implementing the agreements that were offered by it.”

Japan’s New State Secrecy Law Leading to Closer Involvement in US Military Build-Up Against China
The new State Secrecy Bill put forward by the Japanese government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will lead to a highly secretive regime and undermine the basic democratic right to scrutinise government operations and policy.
The cabinet approved the bill last month and the Diet has begun its deliberations, with a view to passing it before the current session ends on December 6. The ruling bloc of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and New Komeito, with a comfortable majority in both chambers of the Diet, is poised to enact the law despite overwhelming public opposition.
The new law is essential for the full integration of the Japanese military and intelligence agencies into the US-led “pivot to Asia” and the military containment of China. Washington has pressed for the tighter control of information for years, withholding intelligence from the Japanese government, or sharing it only with the Japanese Defence Ministry, where a stricter secrecy regime already applies.
Chapter 1 of the bill, published in Japanese by Asahi Shimbun Digital on October 25, refers to the “increasingly complex international situation,” making for the “growing importance of securing information related to national security.”
