Reality Syria
Syria has Changed: Today, Nobody Doubts that These crimes Were the Work of Mercenaries and Jihadists
By Thierry Meyssan
The media coverage of the war in Syria examines only military, diplomatic and humanitarian action. It ignores profound transformation. However, one does not survive a sea of violence without changing profoundly. From Damascus, where he has lived for two years, Thierry Meyssan describes this evolution.
While in Damascus, the Special Envoy of the Secretaries General of the Arab League and the UN, Lakhdar Brahimi, presented “his” draft peace conference project, Geneva 2. A conference whose objective would be to end the “civil war”. This terminology rehashes the analysis of one side against another, of those who argue that this conflict is a logical continuation of the “Arab Spring” against those who argue that it has been manufactured, fueled and manipulated from the outside.
For Westerners and the majority of the National Coalition, Syria is experiencing a revolution. Its people have supposedly risen up against a dictatorship and aspire to live in a democracy like the United States. However, this view is contradicted by the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Syrian National Council and the Free Syrian Army. For them, the problem is not one of freedom, but the personality of Bashar al-Assad. They would be willing to keep the same institutions if the President agreed to step aside for one of his vice-presidents. However, this version is in turn contradicted by the fighters on the ground, for whom the problem is not the personality of the president, but the tolerance that he stands for. Their goal is to establish a Wahhabi system where religious minorities would be subdued or destroyed, and where the Constitution would be replaced by Sharia law.
At first, when snipers were killing people, it was said that it was the regime gunmen who were trying to impose fear. When cars exploded, it was said it was a false flag attack by the secret services. When a massive attack killed members of the Security Council, Assad was accused of having eliminated his rivals. Today, nobody doubts that these crimes were the work of jihadists and they continue to commit more.
In the beginning, there was emergency law. From 1963 on, demonstrations were banned. Only a trickle of foreign journalists was allowed entry and their activities were closely monitored. Today, emergency law has been lifted. There are still few demonstrations because of the fear of terrorist attacks. Numerous are the foreign journalists in Damascus. They move freely without any supervision. Yet most continue to report that the country is a horrible dictatorship. They are allowed to go on in hopes that they will tire of lying when their governments cease to preach the “overthrow of the regime.”
Initially, Syrians did not watch national television channels. They considered these to be propaganda and their preferred source was Al- Jazeera. On live TV, they followed the exploits of the “revolution” and the crimes of the “dictatorship”. But with time, they found themselves confronted directly with events. They saw for themselves the atrocities of the peudo-revolutionaries and they often owed their survival solely to the national army. Today, people watch national television much more, and especially Al- Mayadeen, a Lebanese-Iraqi channel that recovered the audience of Al Jazeera in the Arab world and who is developing an openly nationalist point of view.
At first, the armed opposition claimed to be multi-denominational. People from religious minorities supported it. Then came the Islamic Courts sentencing to death and slitting the throats of the “bad” Sunni “traitors” to their community, the Alawites and Shiites, tortured in public, and Christians expelled from their homes. Today everyone understands that one is always a heretic when one is judged by “the pure ones”, the Takfirists.
While intellectuals argue that Syria was destroyed and needs to be redefined, people know what it is and are often willing to die for it. Ten years ago, every family had a teenager they were trying to exempt from military service. Only the poor were considering a career in the armed forces. Today, many young people enrol in the army and their elders join the popular militias. They all defend eternal Syria where various religious communities live side by side and they all venerate the same God when they have one.
During the conflict, many Syrians themselves evolved. At first they mostly watched events from the sidelines, most declaring not seeing themselves in any camp. After two and a half years of terrible suffering, everyone who remained in the country had to choose to survive. War is but an attempt by the colonial powers to blow on the embers of obscurantism to incinerate civilization.
For myself, having known Syria for a decade and having lived in Damascus for two years, I realize how much the country has changed. Ten years ago, each spoke in a low voice of the problems he had encountered with mukhabarats poking their noses into everything and anything. In this country, of which the Golan is occupied by Israel, the Secret Service had indeed acquired extravagant power. Yet they saw and knew nothing of the preparations for war, of the tunnels that were dug and of the weapons that were imported. Today, a large number of corrupt officials have fled abroad, the mukhabarats have refocused on their mission of homeland defense about which only the jihadists have to complain.
Ten years ago, the Ba’ath Party was constitutionally leader of the nation. It alone was allowed to field candidates in elections, but it was already no longer a mass party. Institutions were gradually moving away from the citizens. Today, it’s hard to keep track of the birth of political parties as they are so numerous. Anyone can run for office and win. Only the “democratic” opposition from Paris and Istanbul have decided to boycott rather than lose.
Ten years ago, one did not talk politics in cafes but only at home and only with people you knew. Today, everyone is talking about politics everywhere in government-controlled areas and never in areas controlled by armed opposition groups.
Where is the dictatorship? Where is the democracy ?
The war is also a class conflict. The rich, who have assets abroad, left when Damascus was attacked. They loved their country, but especially wished to protect their lives and property.
The bourgeois were terrified. They paid “revolutionary” taxes when insurgents demanded, and asserted state support when the army questioned them. Worried, they awaited the departure of President Assad which [[Al-Jazeera announced as imminent. They only lost their anxiety when the United States abandoned plans to bomb the country. Today, they think only of redeeming themselves by supporting the associations of families of martyrs.
The little people knew from the beginning where things were at. There were those who saw the war as a means to take revenge for their economic conditions, and those who wanted to defend freedom of conscience and free public services.
The United States and Israel, France and the United Kingdom, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia who waged the secret war and who lost, did not anticipate this result: to survive, Syria has liberated its energies and regained its freedom.
If the Geneva Conference 2 stands, the great powers will decide nothing there. The next government will not be the result of a diplomatic arrangement. The only power of the conference will be to propose a solution which can be applied only after it has been ratified by a popular referendum.
This war has bled Syria, half of its cities and infrastructure were destroyed to satisfy the appetites and fantasies of Western and Gulf powers. If something positive emerges from Geneva 2, it will be the financing of the reconstruction by those who have made the country suffer.

‘Turkey let militants from 83 countries into Syria’
Syrian Deputy Foreign MinisterFaisal Muqdad says Turkey has let terrorist from 83 countries to enter Syria to topple the government.
Speaking to al-Alam on Tuesday, Muqdad criticized foreign supporters of the insurgency in Syria, saying that, instead of helping Syrian people, the United States, France, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are sending them more weapons to continue the war.
Muqdad especially censured Ankara government and said, “Turkey has adopted a destructive approach regarding Syria. They have let terrorists from 83 countries to Syria and commit crimes”.
Turkey, one of the key supporters of the war in Syria, has been widely criticized by Damascus for leaving its borders open to smugglers to enter force and weapons.
A report by the American Pentapolis Agency of statistics on September showed at least 130 thousand non-Syrian militants are fighting in Syria.
Most of these militants used to enter Syria from Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey, but nowadays Turkey borders are militants’ major supply rout which has turned Aleppo, located near northeastern borders of Syria with Turkey, a main bastion for foreign-backed militant groups.
Muqdad further referred to the Geneva 2 talks aimed at finding a solution to end the conflict and said, Syrian government is determined to help the Geneva-based talks bear results, and to do that ‘putting an end to violence and terrorism must be the top most priority”.
The Syrian official said supporters of the terrorists in his country were from both Western countries such as United States and France and some Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia. “Syrian people consider them responsible for damaging their country,” he added.
He added Washington shows double-standard policies and plays a misleading role regarding Syria. “Despite all these we tell them (supporters of the war) that we will continue to resist,” Muqdad added.

OPCW experts inspect 22 chemical weapons sites in Syria
The Hague, The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on Thursday announced that experts charged with destroying the chemical weapons in Syria have already inspected 22 out of 23 sites declared by the Syrian government.
The AFP quoted the OPCW as saying in a statement that the experts managed to inspect by cameras one of two sites they had earlier averted due to security reasons.
It noted that the site has been dismantled and empty for a long time and the building had signs of great damage, adding that the inspection process at the site was carried out by cameras that were run by Syrian personnel under the supervision of the inspection team.
The geographical position of the site and time of filming was verified, said the statement.
Special Coordinator of the OPCW-UN Joint Mission on eliminating chemical weapons in Syria, Sigrid Kaag, said on Tuesday there has been progress in the process of destruction of the chemical weapons.

Syrian Conflict Moves Closer to Iraq
Bottom Line: Syrian regime leader Bashir al-Assad has a tougher grip on power than he has since the start of the conflict, but it is far from over, and clashes hit a key border crossing into Iraq, the sectarian situation there is disintegrating and even fearless investment bankers are having second thoughts.
Analysis: For the first time in months, Syrian leader Bashir al-Assad appears to be enjoying renewed power in Syria, as the disparate rebel factions disintegrate through in-fighting. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) has dissolved into those who have definitively joined the jihadists in the form of al-Qaeda-linked groups, and those who have now hedged their bets with the regime. Intelligence points to talks of potential cooperation between the regime and FSA defectors. This represents a major transformation of the conflict, which is still far from over. Saudi Arabia is continuing—and even increasingly—arming jihadist groups whose ranks are swelling with a greater momentum than ever before. On another front, the Syrian Kurds are resurging to protect the territory they dominate in the north. The conflict is now being overshadowed by US-Iranian negotiations. At the same time, the conflict is moving closer to Iraq in the form of increased clashes between Syrian Kurds and al-Qaeda-linked Syrian rebels on the border with Iraq.

How the Sunni-Shia schism is dividing the world
The Muslim world’s historic – and deeply tragic – chasm between Sunni and Shia Islam is having worldwide repercussions. Syria’s civil war, America’s craven alliance with the Sunni Gulf autocracies, and Sunni (as well as Israeli) suspicions of Shia Iran are affecting even the work of the United Nations.
Saudi Arabia’s petulant refusal last week to take its place among non-voting members of the Security Council, an unprecedented step by any UN member, was intended to express the dictatorial monarchy’s displeasure with Washington’s refusal to bomb Syria after the use of chemical weapons in Damascus – but it also represented Saudi fears that Barack Obama might respond to Iranian overtures for better relations with the West.
The Saudi head of intelligence, Prince Bandar bin Sultan – a true buddy of President George W Bush during his 22 years as ambassador in Washington – has now rattled his tin drum to warn the Americans that Saudi Arabia will make a “major shift” in its relations with the US, not just because of its failure to attack Syria but for its inability to produce a fair Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement.
What this “major shift” might be – save for the usual Saudi hot air about its independence from US foreign policy – was a secret that the prince kept to himself.

Doctors used as Fifth Column of the West in Syria
Lyuba Lulko
The information war against Syria continues. Every day, "well-wishers" sound the alarm about the dire humanitarian crisis in the country. They work for the new goal - to ensure the fastest departure of legitimate President Bashar al-Assad. Propaganda tricks are so obvious that they are disgusting, but their objective is quite clear.
On Monday, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator Valerie Amos has announced that approximately 9.3 million people in Syria, or 40 percent of the population, were in dire need of help. The official has emphasized the scale of the disaster by adding that this number was at 6.8 million In September. Valerie would not make a mistake if she called all 23 million of Syrian citizens "people in need," stressing that Assad and those close to him were getting fat on the humanitarian aid. Perhaps Ms. Amos is not gutsy enough.
But there are plenty of other gutsy ones, and often they are people of respected profession - doctors, one of the few who by the nature of their work are able to legally travel to any hot spot on the globe. For example, the Israeli media on October 26 published a call of their doctors to the international community to draw attention to the horrible things happening in Syria.
Dr. Arie Avidan, deputy head of the ophthalmology department in a hospital where Syrians are treated illegally, called the doctors to tell the world about the state of affairs in Syria. He wants everyone in the decision-making capacity, including Obama, European and Russian leaders, to learn about the situation and urgently do something. Do what, distinguished Mr. Avidan? Why are you not answering this question? Is the Israeli government answering it for you in the right context?
For example, aforementioned Ms. Amos knows what to do. At a meeting of the UN Security Council she called on the Council to use all its political authority in relation to the regime and the opposition to allow humanitarian workers access those in need. This is an odd call, because Ms. Amos cannot but realize that it is purely rhetorical. Her task is much easier - to form a negative image of the legitimate government of Syria in the eyes of European and American residents, and if it cannot be removed by force, remove it peacefully.
A British doctor David Nott who introduced himself as a vascular surgeon practicing in a hospital in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London particularly stood out. He spent five weeks as a volunteer in a hospital in the north of Syria. On October 19, he told British The Times, that the snipers, mercenaries from the army of Bashar al-Assad "have reached a new level of violence, deliberately firing at pregnant women." Nott was talking about snipers fighting on the side of Assad, mercenaries from China and Azerbaijan. The doctor argued that this was the opinion of the majority of local residents.
Nott said that they could hear the snipers winning packs of cigarettes for a certain number of high-precision hits. As evidence, the doctor showed an X-ray of a baby in the mother's womb with a bullet in her head. Nott said that he has not seen evidence of foreign aid reaching those in need. This is a great publicity stunt, much better than that of Bradolem who said that he saw the assistance only reach the Assad regime. But The Times readers quickly exposed Nott. It turned out that he was a military doctor who could not testify impartially, and an X-ray was fabricated and depicted a fully born child rather than a fetus.
Sometimes doctors understand that their data is used for propaganda purposes. A non-governmental international organization "Doctors Without Borders" (DWB) was shocked by how its communiqué of August 24 was used. The communiqué indicated that three hospitals in the district of Damascus received 3.6 thousand patients with symptoms of neurotoxicity (in a high-profile case of a chemical attack in a suburb of Damascus on August 21). DWB said that it distanced itself from the American administration and other government organizations that repeatedly quoted the communique to justify a possible military intervention in Syria.

Syria demands Turkish gov't cooperation in court indictment related to terrorists' acquisition of WM
Damascus, (SANA) _ The Syrian government has underlined the gravity of the terrorist groups' acquisition of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).
The government referred, in a letter addressed to the counter-terrorism committees at the UN Security Council in New York, to the information unveiled by a court indictment in the Turkish city of Adana against a terrorist group comprising Syrian and Turkish members that sought to obtain chemical weapons.
The letter clarified that the abovementioned al-Qaeda-linked group sought to obtain materials used in manufacturing the toxic Sarin gas before having them transferred to Syria.
The letter warned of the possibility that other terrorist groups might lay hands on chemical weapons, which poses a threat to Syria, the region and the world.
The letter demanded that the committees concerned at the UNSC work to match the chemicals mentioned in the indictment with the toxic gas used in Damascus countryside, Aleppo countryside and other sites in Syria.
It also requested that the committees inquire as to the reason behind the Turkish authorities releasing some defendants before arresting them again, and looking into whether it was intended to waste evidence in the case or evidence pertaining to other past of planned terrorist acts.
The letter also demanded that the committees oblige the Turkish government to cooperate with the counter-terrorism bodies into the case and any other terrorist activities, also requesting that a deeper and more thorough investigation be conducted into the issue with the participation of the countries neighboring Turkey and some European states.

Washington greatest threat ever: American analyst
The United States is the greatest threat mankind has ever experienced on the planet, American analyst Paul Craig Roberts writes in a column for Press TV.
“The hubris and arrogance of Washington, combined with Washington’s huge supply of weapons of mass destruction, make Washington the greatest threat that has ever existed to all life on the planet. Washington is the enemy of all humanity,” Roberts wrote on Thursday.
Urging the Americans to understand that they have already lost their country, the analyst noted that "the rest of the world needs to recognize that Washington is not merely the most complete police state since Stalinism, but also a threat to the entire world."
Roberts said the US-led wars across the globe have nurtured terrorists for the rest of the world and created “hatred of America that never previously existed.”
“Despite this, America is free of terrorist attacks except for the ones orchestrated by the FBI. What the fabricated ‘terror threat’ has done is to create a thorough-going domestic police state that is unaccountable,” he added.

How America was lost
"No legal issue arises when the United States responds to a challenge to its power, position, and prestige.” Dean Acheson , 1962, speaking to the American Society of International Law.
Dean Acheson declared 51 years ago that power, position, and prestige are the ingredients of national security and that national security trumps law. In the United States democracy takes a back seat to “national security,” a prerogative of the executive branch of government.
National security is where the executive branch hides its crimes against law, both domestic and international, its crimes against the Constitution, its crimes against innocent citizens both at home and abroad, and its secret agendas that it knows that the American public would never support.
“National security” is the cloak that the executive branch uses to make certain that the US government is unaccountable.
Without accountable government there is no civil liberty and no democracy except for the sham voting that existed in the Soviet Union and now exists in the US.

Alkaline and PH Diet: Supress Cancer And Other Maladies
I officially have started a new mission. I have changed my diet to mostly a raw food diet where I juice mostly fruits and vegetables. My main goal is to make my body stay in optimal health and reach a good pH level. A healthy body has a pH balance of 7.0. Now I’m usually a very healthy eater and for the last couple of days I have been juicing fruits and green vegetables for my meals and I havn’t felt this good in a long while. I have lost four pounds already and I feel amazing so I know choosing an alkaline based diet will be a good choice to make. When your body is in a healthier and more alkaline environment this reduces the risk of diebetes, cancer, and arthritis. Their are many signs on which your body could be acidic and I will list these symptoms below:
Lack of energy, Nervousness (easily stressed), Inflamed-sensitive gums, Dental Cavities, Conjunctivitis, Cracks at the corner of the lips, Runny Nose, Prone to Chills, Dry Skin, Skin is red or irritated in areas where you sweat a lot like knees or underarms, Itches, Nails are weak, Hair is dull or falls out a lot, Leg cramps and spasms, Stiff Neck, Lumbago, Migrant join pains, Arthritis, and Osteoporosis, Headaches, Easy weight gain, mental confusion (forgetfullness).
My symptoms; included having lack of energy, nervousness, prone to chills, dry skin, hair as been falling out a lot more latly, lumbago, mental confusion-forgetfullness, and sometimes I would break out in a rash. All this confused me because I usually eat very healthy and take lots of herbal supplements. Then I used the pHion Balance Diagnostic Stips that I got at my local health food store called Roosters and found out that my pH balance was not good so I have realized my problem and now I’m on a mission to alkalize my body by eating alkalizing foods and using pH Protector Drops in my water or tea to boost the alkaline in my body. Iv’e done some research and this is what an individual should consume to create a more alkalize state in the body:

Alkalizing Foods
Potatoes, this is one of the best foods to eat because it has anti-acidifying qualities. The juice of the potatoe is used to solve the problems of stomach acidity and ulcers. I plan on juicing a potatoe tonight.
Green Vegetables
Colored Vegetables- NO TOMATOES!
Almonds, Brazil Nuts
Dried Fruits
Almond Milk
Black Olives presserved in oil
Barley Grass- is wonderful for balancing the body’s pH but also can help with skin issues such as acne, eczema, melanosis. I’m definetly trying this!

Acidifying Foods
Chicken Eggs…NOT Duck Eggs!
Cheeses…This is sad!
Animal Fats such as Lard
Whole Grains and Refined Grains
Breads, Pasta, Cereal Flakes
Leguminous plants such as peanuts, soybeans, white beans, broad beans
White Grains
Sweets: syrups, chocolate, jelly
Condiments such as Mayonnaise, mustard, and ketchup
* You should always have more alkalizing foods than acidifying foods when eating a meal. People who are trying to change their pH balance should have about 80% alkalizing foods and 20% acidifying foods.
*Only eating alkaline vegetables and plant-based foods should last about one to two weeks unless you have a very severe condition. Your body needs protein so supplementing after a week or two with good protein such as NON-GMO Chia Seeds and Flaxseeds can be very beneficial to the body.
This change will be very difficult but I’m most certain that it will be the best for my body, health, and overall health! Hope this helped you health freaks!

Hatay Governor Covers-Up Smuggling of Bombs via Turkey to Syria
Items seized in a truck at Iskenderun harbor, which purported to be bringing materials from Saudi Arabia, were in fact the mechanisms for bombs.
AD , - Suspicions have been raised yet again, over the AKP government’s involvement in the Syrian civil war, after it came to light that the governor of Hatay, Celalettin Lekesiz, made attempts to cover up the seizure of almost-complete bombs in a truck bound for Syria.
bomb-circuitsDespite the driver of the vehicle stating that the truck and its equipment “would be given to the Syrian opposition,” the governor made no mention of this key information in an announcement made to the news media.
The vehicle carrying the bombs was seized on 31 October on a roll-on-roll-off ship in the port of Iskenderun, a city in the south of Turkey very close to the border with Syria. Murder of French journalists a ‘botched AQIM operation’
Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) has said the kidnapping and killing of two French journalists was in retaliation for the "daily killings" by French troops in Mali. But the claim appears to be a jihadist whitewash for a botched operation.

'Fairly recent' proof French reporters held in Syria alive: Paris
AFP - Paris has "fairly recent" proof that four French journalists kidnapped in war-torn Syria are alive, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said in a television interview on Thursday.
The four were seized in two separate incidents in June in what has become the world's most dangerous place for journalists.
On June 6, unknown men detained Didier Francois, a seasoned war reporter for Europe 1 radio, and Edouard Elias, a photographer, at a checkpoint as the pair travelled to the country's second city of Aleppo.
On June 22, reporter Nicolas Henin, 37, and photographer Pierre Torres, 29, were seized while working in the northern city of Raqqa.

22 Million Dollars Scare Campaign Defeats Washington GMO Labeling Bill
The Washington Initiative for the Labeling of GMO Food failed to Pass after Massive Corporate Financed Campaign against the Bill
nsnbc , – Bill I-522 in Washington State, USA, which proposed the labeling of certain foods which contain genetically manipulated ingredients, appears to have failed to pass after the early returns of results from the ballot boxes. Of the nearly one million votes cast, only 445.730 were reported to have voted for the GMO food labeling bill.
[...] One of the psychologically and sociologically most effective aspects of the well-financed corporate campaign against bill I-522 however, was a thinly veiled threat against consumers.
The corporate campaigners implied, that the massive additional expenses which would be caused due to the fact that food manufacturers would have to label tens of thousands of products especially for Washington State, ultimately would have to be transferred to the consumer, who would have to pay the price.
