West Pours Arms into Syria as Al Qaeda Mass Slaughters Civilians
West fueling deadly conflict that has allegedly killed 70,000.
February 24, 2013 (LD) - Repeat a lie often enough, and hopefully people will begin to believe it. That is what a concerted effort by Western media houses hopes to achieve as they claim the recent flow of heavy weapons from Western nations and their Arab-Israeli partners is boosting "moderate rebels" and "tilting" the balance of Syria's conflict against the Syrian government.
The Washington Post in particular, sets the tempo for this coordinated propaganda campaign, claiming in their report, "In Syria, new influx of weapons to rebels tilts the battle against Assad," that:
A surge of rebel advances in Syria is being fueled at least in part by an influx of heavy weaponry in a renewed effort by outside powers to arm moderates in the Free Syrian Army, according to Arab and rebel officials.
The report also states:
The officials declined to identify the source of the newly provided weapons, but they noted that the countries most closely involved in supporting the rebels’ campaign to oust Assad have grown increasingly alarmed at the soaring influence of Islamists over the fragmented rebel movement. They include the United States and its major European allies, along with Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the two countries most directly involved in supplying the rebels.
The Washington Post refuses to use the term, "Al Qaeda," and instead labels the international, Persian Gulf financed, armed, and harbored terror organization as, "radical Islamists." It quotes an unnamed Arab official as saying,:
"If you want to weaken al-Nusra, you do it not by withholding [weapons] but by boosting the other groups."
Al Qaeda and the "Moderates" are One in the Same
Al-Nusra, of course, is Al Qaeda in Syria and is linked directly to the openly Western-created and backed "moderate" opposition. Moaz al-Khatib, leader of the so-called National Coalition, demanded the US take al-Nusra in particular off their list of sanctioned terrorist organizations. In December of 2012, Reuters quoted al-Khatib as saying:
"The decision to consider a party that is fighting the regime as a terrorist party needs to be reviewed. We might disagree with some parties and their ideas and their political and ideological vision. But we affirm that all the guns of the rebels are aimed at overthrowing the tyrannical criminal regime."
In the same article, Reuters would admit:
The United States designated the Jabhat al-Nusra (Nusra Front) as a foreign terrorist organisation and said it was trying to hijack the revolt on behalf of al Qaeda in Iraq.
While the Washington Post tries to claim Al Qaeda is somehow a separate entity from the "Syrian opposition," the West's own opposition front openly defends and supports Al Qaeda's ongoing violence, which most recently manifested itself in a car bomb targeting scores of civilians, including school children.
As the West simultaneously accuses Saudi Arabia and Qatar (and here) of being the primary financiers of Al Qaeda, it itself has admitted years before the so-called "Syrian uprising" began that it was itself funding and arming extremist groups with direct ties to Al Qaeda with the goal of fostering the very violence now taking place in Syria and along its peripheries. The purpose of now repeatedly lying about arming only "moderate" militants in Syria, is to cover up both past admissions that the West planned to overthrow both Syria and neighboring Iran by arming and funding Al Qaeda since at least 2007, as well as obvious evidence that they are in fact doing just that in Syria now.
Image: (Left) The US Army West Point Combating Terrorism Center's 2007 report, "Al-Qa'ida's Foreign Fighters in Iraq" indicated which areas in Syria Al Qaeda fighters filtering into Iraq came from. The overwhelming majority of them came from Dayr Al-Zawr in Syria's southeast, Idlib in the north near the Turkish-Syrian border, and Dar'a (Daraa) in the south near the Jordanian-Syrian border. (Right) A map indicating the epicenters of violence in Syria indicate that the exact same hotbeds for Al Qaeda in 2007, now serve as the epicenters of so-called "pro-democracy fighters." The Washington Post now claims that arming militants near Dar'a (Daraa) will help keep weapons out of extremists' hands, despite the US Army long-ago identifying it as one of many Al Qaeda hotbeds.

Syrian Rebels Get Arms from Kosovo and Bosnia
The DEBKA website, close to Israeli military intelligence, knows well all the behind the curtain details of regional politics. A few days ago it reported about basically new turns of the way the events unfold in Syria. According to Israelis, the Syrian extremists received a load of heavy weapons for the first time since the war started. The senders are the groups from Kosovo and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina linked to Al Qaeda. The package includes Kornet and Fagot anti-tank systems delivered by the Soviet Union to former Yugoslavia in the past. The weapons ended up in the hands of extremists as a result of well-known bloody events. As to Israeli intelligence sources, the heavy weapons have been delivered from the Balkans to Syria by sea with the help of Albanian mafia, which is dry behind ears in such operations… Xenia Svetlova, a Russian Middle East expert, thinks the smuggled arms flow through the border between Turkey and Syria, no matter the Friends of Syria officially shy away from direct arms supplies to the rebels.

Michael Weiss - Who just started arming Syria rebels?
In one of the most strangely neglected stories in the two-year Syria conflict, beginning on January 1, four new weapon models began appearing in large quantities in Daraa province, none used at any time by the Syrian military. The M60 recoilless gun, the M79 Osa rocket launcher, the RPG-22 rocket launcher and the Milkor MGL/RBG-6 grenade launcher hadn’t been shown in any opposition videos until the new year.
[...] Croatia, which, along with a host of European and Middle Eastern powers, recognized the Syrian National Coalition as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people, is not yet a member state of the European Union (it is set to accede in July of this year) and so, technically, it is not beholden to the EU arms embargo. It is, however, a member of the Friends of Syria umbrella group: Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic attended the second conference in Istanbul in 2012, and she’s previously expressed concern about Croatia’s oil and gas fields, which sanctions and deteriorating security have rendered useless.

Confirmed here: Syrian rebels get arms through Zagreb by Jordanian plane!
[...] However, there is a possibility that Croatia has not sold weapons directly to the Syrian rebels, but to a third country that transfers them to Syria. He also mentions the U.S., the main Croatian military and political partner. According to information that no one in government would comment, Croatia has sold or otherwise disposed of weapons, and probably ammunition via a third party, the United States, who had them moved to Syria. And in that scenario, the Croatian government is completely clean. And were the weapons transferred? In recent months, there was a large number of images of a Jordanian transport aircraft landing at Zagreb's Pleso. This is an Ilyushin 76 owned by the Jordanian International Air Cargo. Randomly recorded with photos that can be seen on the website PlanePictures.net. According to available information, a large transport aircraft landed at the airport on 14 and 23 December 2012, and 6 January and 18 February this year. No official data is given as to what was transported by the flights. However, it is well known fact that a Croatian company has signed a commercial agreement on the legal sale of weapons to Jordan.

Washington Backs Syrian Anti-Government Terrorism
Make no mistake. Syria is Washington's war. It was planned years ago. Regime change is policy. At issue is replacing Assad's government with a pro-Western puppet one.
Washington tolerates no independent governments. It demands subservience to US policies. Outliers are targeted for removal. Options include war.
Mass slaughter and destruction don't matter. Unchallenged dominance is policy. It's longstanding, ruthless and lawless.
Western-recruited death squads ravage Syria. They've done so for two years. They're imported from abroad. Rules of engagement include mass murder, torture, and other atrocities.
Pro-Assad loyalists are prime targets. Innocent civilians are massacred. Doing so is official US policy. Imperial wars are called liberating ones. Terrorism is what they do, not us.
Syria was peaceful before US proxies invaded. So was Libya in 2011. It was ravaged and destroyed. It remains unstable and violent. Libya 2.0 looms.
Syria may become NATO's latest charnel house. It's well along the way already. Countries are ravaged on the pretext of liberating them. Empires never say they're sorry. Policy isn't pretty. It's violent and lawless.
It reflects state terrorism. It proliferates death and destruction. It prioritizes wealth, power, privilege and dominance. Direct and proxy wars are waged.
Cutthroat killers are used. They're recruited abroad. They're heavily armed, trained, funded and directed. They're ordered to commit mass murder. Obama bears full responsibility. He's a war criminal multiple times over.
